About this property

"One of the BEST villas on Montserrat"

3 King Size bedrooms each with its own ensuite/newly redesigned pool. This villa is as remarkable as the island that surrounds it - and that's saying a lot. Get away from it all while still enjoying all the modern conveniences from a gas bbq to wifi to a Smart TV. But who wants to watch TV when you have the volcano out one window and the Caribbean Sea out the other in the most exclusive area of Montserrat. This stylish property with its Caribbean architecture including high ceilings, a wrap-around gallery and landscaping that includes flowering trees, fruit trees and royal palms of course is truly like a home away from home. The villa is well located for taking hikes to the beach, local sightseeing and doing some exploring. Olveston House is less than a five minute walk and is handy for a great meal without cooking yourself or for having a cocktail with new friends. The layout of the house makes it ideal for couples vacationing together. Just read our reviews!

Beautiful villa with stunning views!
We returned to Montserrat in search of sunshine and relaxation and found both at Royal Palm Villa. The villa was very clean, tastefully decorated, comfortable and well stocked with essentials including lots of high quality towels and kitchen ware. It was a perfect size for our family of 4, with our two teenaged children each having their own room and bathroom. I especially loved the colorful tiles in the bathrooms, the louvered screened windows that invited in cool breezes and the charming sounds of the island (roosters, goats, donkey) and the large pool surrounded by flowers and a spectacular view of the steaming volcano and sea. Our days eased into a peaceful routine...morning coffee by the pool listening to the island sounds, followed by a bakery run (lots of coconut bread), followed by beach time, followed by lunch (fish or roti at People's Place or Attic), followed by pool time, followed by dinner watching the sunset and then the stars (Pont's is our favorite but we did enjoy a spectacular sunset at Isles Bay Beach Bar). The owner was very professional during booking with great follow-up. The property manager Pickett picked us up at the airport, rented us a car and checked in on us. The housekeeper is a a very talented upholsterer who sewed the beautiful couch cushions in the villa . She was very kind to my children taking the time to speak with them in her native language of Spanish. Royal Palm Villa was the perfect setting for a relaxing vacation and we hope to return!

Just Amazing!!!
Wow! Words can't describe the beauty of this home. First class experience from the moment we walked into the home. Everything you could want and more in a home away from your home. Kitchen was to good to imagine. Stocked with everything and I mean everything you would need. In addition, beer, wine, club soda, etc was there. Obviously, we replenished what we used. But, the owners stock it was well, you could just tell. The house keeper was wonderful. Make sure to leave her a good tip, as we did. She was so sweet. Pool was beautiful and so so clean. Grounds were incredible. House was spotless, so relaxing. The views of the sea and volcano are just amazing. So relaxing. I can't say enough about the house. We travel often and rent with VRBO, this was by far the best home we rented. Owners really know how to welcome their guests. We were hesitant to write the review, because we wanted to keep this home our secret. If you stay here...you will know what we mean. Just AMAZING. We will be back ....

Wonderful vacation home on Monterserrat
The Royal Palms villa was a perfect house for our vacation over spring break in Montserrat. The house is elegant yet relaxing, the pool ideal, the kitchen well supplied, and the bedrooms and baths met all of our expectations. Mr Pickett picked us up at the airport, helped us obtain a car, license, and first groceries. He then took us to the house and helped to get us moved in. He was available at any time if we needed assistance (we didn't) Montserrat is an awesome island for relaxation and beach fun - but it holds so much more. We hiked the rainforest, explored the local towns, and experienced the volcano! Not your basic beach trip -which was great for my adventure seeking family! We have always enjoyed trying to "live" at our destination and not just hitting the tourist scene. Montserrat was a great experience for this. The locals are very friendly and helpful. We never felt unsafe or pressured. Grocery stores are different than the US - of course thats part of the adventure! Rams is very near the house and served most of our needs. A local lady across the street from the grocery had fresh produce for sale - perfect tomatoes and a nice papaya. Empire had the best meat selection - its a bit tough to find, tucked behind the hardware store. We did not go to the Olveston house, but did take the short walk to it and the food smelled great. We enjoyed the Attic - named for its predecessor now amongst the rubble of Plymouth. The Peoples place was super, and the owner had a happy smile and demeanor. We used Sonny's tours for a journey to the exclusion zone. He was very knowledgable and that tour added a whole different element of learning and respect for the island and the volcano. The film at the observatory was a great summary of the volcanic events of the past. We hiked to Rendevouz beach, Fox's beach, and enjoyed beers and food at Hanks beach bar. It was a memorable trip that we talk about often. We did drink from the Runaway ghaut - so our souls should be happily pulled back to Montserrat! The vacation was awesome and the house - to get back to the point of this review - was the starting point for amazing memories! Perfect house!

Wonderful taste of paradise
The pictures do not do the house justice, it is way more beautiful. You can tell the owners put their heart into this property. Well organized, beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and has everything you could want. My communication with the owners was very pleasant. We were greeted at the airport by the property manager who picked us up in a rental car and took us to the grocery store. My family really enjoyed the stay. We spent most of the time laying on the pool floats and looking at the volcano or, my favorite, at night floating on the gray rafts, you can stay dry and cover yourself with a towel and stare at the stars! We enjoyed food from Lyme, which is on the other side of the island but great local cuisine and The Attic. We didn't really like Olveston House restaurant because it's American food and we prefer to eat local food, but it was fine. The housekeepers and gardeners were respectful and kind. Do rent this house ! Best one on the island.

The PERFECT place to get away from it all
Arriving at the Royal Palm was like stepping into a brochure; the cool breezes, the lush gardens, the breathtaking views. We arrived by charter flight and were met by a kind gentleman who took us on a 30 minute tour of the island on our way to the villa. Once there, we were greeted by Mr. Pickett, the caretaker of the villa. He was so incredibly helpful with information and just, simply, a man of warm spirit. He answered any and all questions and showed us all the amenities of the home. He also provided rental cars for our party. Many, many amenities are in this fine home. The owners have thought of anything you could possibly need and provided it. (including earplugs, a welcome addition to the cock's crow in the early hours). The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The home clean and bright. The water pressure divine. The kitchen is fully stocked for the person in your party who loves the idea of cooking. The pool area is beyond beautiful as we spent much of our time simply lounging around. There are plenty of shaded areas, as well as the full sun of the pool. And the view!! Gorgeous! The home boasts four bedrooms, one is very private. It also has a terrific tv room separate from the home but, still connected. I cannot say enough about the people of Montserrat. We were lucky enough to visit during the St. Patrick's Day celebration. The warm people welcomed us into the entire festival including the PARADE. Best jerk chicken I've ever had. Arranging our trip with Marsha was a pleasure. She was so forthcoming with information. She was easy to work with and quick to respond to our plethora of questions. She told us the best places to eat and she was absolutely correct. Olveston House was, again, so helpful. When one of our party declared she was a vegetarian, the CHEF came out to offer her an additional option to the menu. Their menu changes daily and is delicious now matter what you choose. We also ate at the "beach bar" as the locals call it. It's actually called the Yacht Club. They have great wings, burgers and onion rings! They say if you drink the water from Montserrat, your soul will bring you back again and again. You do not need to drink from the spring, you simply need to visit this unique, non touristy locale to realize you've been missing out on something truly spectacular....that alone, will bring you back. We would highly recommend this villa and this island to our friends and to you, the reader.
