Great family weekend

  • 5 of 5

Our family had the best weekend celebrating my milestone birthday. It is the most amazing home or should I say homes. There is a charming pool house with 3 bedrooms, living room and kitchen. It fit us all perfectly. There's everything you could need and more! Just bring food and your clothes and you're all set. The owner is very accommodating. Would love to make it a yearly tradition:)

Perfect fit for big family celebration of mom's 70th-

  • 5 of 5

We loved our weekend in this beautiful home! Layout and space inside was just what we needed for 3 generations and many families to share a space where everyone could both participate and retreat to find their own quiet space when desired. Windows and natural light were amazing. All the creature comforts you could possibly need, loved using the fire place, the projector to watch a birthday video in honor of my mom from her school was an amazing addition to the fun. Tons of space in the kitchen for prep, cooking, eating and hang-out. Ping pong table was a huge hit for kids. And the basement room was the perfect space for them to romp around without intruding on the rest of us. The pool house was wonderful too and gave those without kids a quiet break when needed. It was snowing and cold outside so we didn't motivate to explore the outdoors as we had hoped. Would love the opportunity to go back when it's warmer - a whole other world to enjoy outside the home - plus trampoline, pool and tons of yard space for kids to play.

Special thanks to Steven, the owner, who made all the logistics and transactions around the rental incredibly straight forward and pleasant. Thank you for making yourself so available, for the warm welcome at the house and the speedy responses to any and all questions.

Also, we could not have been happier with our choice to hire Chef Joseph Hoffman to do our big birthday meal. I can't say enough positive things about our experience with him - a pleasure to work with from beginning to end, absolutely amazing meal, and so open and able to fit with the vibe/style our family was looking for. wwwlitchfieldchef.com

Wonderful bright and cozy weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

With a large group from Brooklyn (10 kids, 10 adults) we are in an annual search for the perfect home to accommodate our growing families for a weekend getaway. I think we finally found the right place for each family to fit comfortably. The kitchen is great to cook in, the living areas are huge and have cozy furniture. The grounds are great and picturesque at every turn, good for adventure and the trampoline was a hit. We went hiking at nearby Mt Tom, went to get pumpkins at March Farms and finished with a walk around the Litchfield Boardwalk. This house was perfect and we look forward to coming again.

Owner's Response: Thank you Bethanie! We were thrilled to have your wonderful family stay in our rental home and hope you visit again. Washington CT is an all-season town - glad you got to enjoy the fall foliage and activities and yesterday we actually had snow fall for the first time. All the best, Steve

An unexpected and delightful weekend away

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here along with three other families (with lots of young children) for a long weekend. We had a blast. During the days we went apple picking nearby at Marsh Farm (hay rides, corn maze and pumpkin patch for the kids). We went hiking down country lanes, past lakes and through the woods which adjoin the property. Each night we cooked huge meals in the fully-equipt kitchen and ten of us ate in the impressive dining room. We did jigsaw puzzles in the huge living room and (attempted to) play the grand piano. My wife & I agreed that we would love to come back and do exactly the same weekend away next year (drivign 2 hr 15mins from our home in Brooklyn, NYC).
