Mountain Paradise
We absolutely loved Crystal Pines! The pictures accurately show this beautiful cabin. This was an important factor in my decision to book it. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils. The dining table had room for 6 people comfortably plus two bar stools at the kitchen counter if you need more eating space. The living room held our entire group without feeling squished. I totally enjoyed the first floor bedroom with a queen size bed and bathroom for my elderly mother. This was perfect for her. Upstairs were two bedrooms with beautiful etched doors. One room had a queen size bed and skylights. The other room (peacock etched) had a king size bed and skylights. We had a bathroom between these two rooms to share. Not a problem at all. The next bedroom was in another part of the main house. This room was perfect for my son and his wife and 2 children. It was like their own apartment. This room had a queen size bed, a set of bunk beds, a foosball table and couches. The game room has a full size pool table which was fun to play. I also loved having breakfast on the outdoor front deck. The backyard was large and totally fenced in. Perfect for the kids to play around. Crystal Pines is perfectly situated away from city noise but close enough to the Village which is full of restaurants and shopping. Be sure to bring an iron if you need your clothes pressed and extra hangers. Some hangers are provided. A few more would have been perfect. We loved our stay!

Disappointed
My family and I spent 3 nights over the Thanksgiving holiday and we were disappointed. The arrival process is inconvenient to have to go to a separate location before checking in especially after a long drive with little kids. When we finally arrived at the home the gas had been shut off for some maintenance and we had no heat, fire or way of cooking. We had to wait quite a while for the gas company to come out and resolve the situation and relight all the pilots etc. The house desperately needs a deep clean. It was extremely dirty. Clock didn’t work. It’s 2.5 baths not 3 as advertised. What they called the 3rd bath is a laundry room with a toilet in it. The dining table was wobbly and barely hanging on by a thread. It had broken at one point and someone put cheap hardware store brackets on it to hold it together. There were many light bulbs out throughout the house. There are no mirrors in the room in back. The front window is unsafe and drafty and has a piece of glass outside that is held by plastic bathroom mirror clips. The front deck is unsafe. There were no amenities whatsoever - no shampoo, hairdryer etc. and the dishes and utensils were disgusting. The rental fees were not cheap and I have stayed in several vacation rental properties prior to this and I am a custom to so much more for this price point. Based on this I could not recommend this property. Also all of the check in and check out times and details were different on the VRBO site versus what the property management company provided. Not a great experience.
