Photos and Description of this Windermere holiday apartment

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

You will be delighted as you descend from street level in a quiet family neighborhood to your garden-level suite opening onto a mature wooded greenbelt along the popular Burke-Gilman trail. You will open your private entrance to find a lovely, roomy apartment, providing two comfortable bedrooms. You'll have to decide whether to sink into the comfortable sofa to enjoy the big screen TV with cable, cozy up before the floor to ceiling windows to drink in the serene view of trees, birds and Lake Washington in the distance, or cook a gourmet meal in the well-equipped brand new kitchen. Your guests will relax and chat at the bar while you create, then you can share your bounty at the dining table, or al fresco on your private deck.

The first bedroom has a king size bed, huge closet and desk where you can log on via ethernet or wifi and work or surf in peace and tranquility. The second bedroom has an inviting queen size bed, convenient storage and a large window looking out on the wooded garden. This bedroom adjoins the full bathroom with tub and shower, separate vanity with plenty of storage.

You have your own laundry room, complete with front loader, high efficiency washer and dryer. Your suite will always be comfortable, with new natural gas heat and central air conditioning. You and your family will always feel safe with your own security system.

Your guest suite is your home away from home, secluded feeling but minutes away from all the amenities and activities you could want. You will find easy street parking in the uncrowded neighborhood. You are steps away from public transportation, taking the Metro bus to the University District, Seattle Center, Northgate, Ballard or downtown in minutes.

About Ron

Your host, Ron, has decades of experience in hospitality, as the owner of one of Seattle's most beloved restaurants. I expanded into home renovation during 2010 as general contractor as my wife and I brought our 1967 home into the 21st century. We updated every inch of the home and are comfortable on the first and second floors of this three story home. We especially love the location, the feeling of being in the forest as we gaze out on the wooded garden and watch the birds.

Ron purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Ron chose Northeast

We have lived in Northeast Seattle for years, but especially enjoy this home for its tranquil setting combined with easy access to everything we love. We can be in the Cascade or Olympic Mountains, on Puget Sound, or the San Juan Islands in no time. Our community is diverse, urban, literate and comfortable.

What makes this apartment unique

We adopted the Pacific Northwest as our home many years ago, have raised our children here, and are now ready to share our community with visitors. We trust you will leave Seattle as smitten as we are!

Just like being at home!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this place! Very comfortable and convenient to LRT to get downtown. Ron has supplied everything you could have in your home - down to ziploc bags! Beds were super comfortable and the house was quiet and cozy in a lovely neighbourhood. Would definitely stay here again. We usually stay downtown but found this more relaxing and just as convenient- once we spent a day downtown we didn't need to have another day there and this allowed us to explore other areas of the city. Next time we will bring bikes to explore the trails that are right outside the door. Thanks Ron for being a gracious host!

Ron is really nice and spoke with him a few times over the phone. I

supposed to stay here with my family relatives from oversea, but I didnt able to make it. I saw a lot of nice pictures. Ron was helping them a lot with moving luggage. I would like to stay there myself next time

Pristine and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Ron, the owner, has thought of everything. This home is extremely well stocked for anything you could possibly need during your stay. The home is well appointed with high quality linens, a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and all the comforts of home. The owner lives in the two floors above this unit, and is available for any questions or anything you may need during your stay. And he keeps his property immaculate. I was very impressed to find that this property was everything it was advertised to be and more. Very convenient location as I was in town attending an event at the University of Washington. Beautiful neighborhood with a cute little local neighborhood shopping center and restaurant a block away. I would stay here again on future trips and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, home-like setting during your travels.

A wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying here and it was just as great as the first. The owner is very accommodating and helpful. The unit is well kept and nicely appointed. The backyard is beautiful and the Burke-Gilman trail is right behind the unit and easy to access from down the street.

It's location is close to the University of Washington which fit our needs perfectly. It is also not difficult to get downtown on the light link rail (there is a new station next to Husky Stadium).

We'll definitely stay here again and recommend it to all our friends.

Thanks Ron!

A Wonderful Visit

  • 5 of 5

We wholeheartedly agree with the reviews we had read before booking this rental in that it was even better than what we thought it would be. Ron was extremely hospitable and showed us around the place which was extremely clean, comfortable, well-supplied, and very nice. The kids loved the fire pit and making smores in the backyard. They seemed to think of everything here and supplied so many little extras from laundry detergent to a few Seattle chocolates to enjoy. We very much enjoyed our first visit to Seattle and would enthusiastically recommend this rental.
