About Ron

Your host, Ron, has decades of experience in hospitality, as the owner of one of Seattle's most beloved restaurants. I expanded into home renovation during 2010 as general contractor as my wife and I brought our 1967 home into the 21st century. We updated every inch of the home and are comfortable on the first and second floors of this three story home. We especially love the location, the feeling of being in the forest as we gaze out on the wooded garden and watch the birds.

Ron purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Ron chose Hawthorne Hills

We have lived in Northeast Seattle for years, but especially enjoy this home for its tranquil setting combined with easy access to everything we love. We can be in the Cascade or Olympic Mountains, on Puget Sound, or the San Juan Islands in no time. Our community is diverse, urban, literate and comfortable.

What makes this apartment unique

We adopted the Pacific Northwest as our home many years ago, have raised our children here, and are now ready to share our community with visitors. We trust you will leave Seattle as smitten as we are!

Urban Retreat-Accurately Named!

  • 5 of 5

This lovely home was easily one of the best, if not the best VRBO property we have ever stayed at. We were met by the owner Ron as we pulled into the driveway. He is very friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. He gave us a tour of where we were staying and were were immediately impressed with the layout, cleanliness and amenities the property had to offer. Fully stocked kitchen with a few beverages waiting for you in the refrigerator. Fully stocked Kurieg coffee bar. The best feature though is the meticulously cared for back yard. We certainly plan on staying here again the next time we are in Seattle!

Amazing and Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We have never used anything other than a hotel to stay in for the 24 years that we have been married. We decided that now that the boys are older (19 and 14) that we needed a little room! Well this place was the absolute most perfect place to be in for 6 days with the boys! We came from VERY hot, dry desert in Las Vegas to cool, crisp air and lots of greenery!!!! Ron was very friendly and helpful with whatever we needed to know about the area! The apartment has every single thing you can think of for cooking, washing, showering, grilling and we even made smores on the fire pit! We had the best vacation ever and this place made it what it was!!!! The trail is perfect to walk on and has the cutest little market up about a half mile. They are a mini Whole Foods. We got lunch stuff there, coffee and cookies. It is just a wonderful and perfect location to everything! Town is about 20 minutes away but we did park at WU and took the light rail. It is open for parking on weekends and the light rail is VERY convenient. I would go again in a heartbeat! Thank you Ron!
