Guestbook comments from the owner

We needed a comfortable place to stay after long days in the field. The house is amazing with respect to the detail. Everything is perfect. It is well stocked with everything you need for an extended stay and Carella will assist you if there is anything you need. The comfortable beds! Brilliant after a long days work in the desert. We also enjoyed the backyard where we saw families of quail, javelina (marking their territory on the bird feeder), jackrabbits, scorpions, and families of cactus wrens! In summary Carella makes this an easy place to have a vacation, or in our case, a research trip. The best field “Station” ever!

A pleasant stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for three weeks, 11/1 - 11-21/2016, at the casita. We come to Tucson one or two times each year. We know the neighborhood very well as we used to rent another property nearby.

The casita has two bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a cozy study. A spacious one-car garage is fully attached to the casita. The living room, kitchen and dining room blend together, like a family room with a 12-15 foot ceiling, 4 big windows and a sliding glass door to a patio, plenty of natural lighting, and great views to nature. A big around oak dining table with 5 large oak chairs are very comfortable. The living room has a 40" TV, a coffee table, a big single chair with a small end table next to it, and a large couch for 3-4 people.

There is a nice desert garden in front of the casita with a small water fountain. The patio is in the back of the casita. It has two tables, cushioned chairs, a lounge chair, and a grill, all under a partiality covered roof for lighting and comfort. Sitting on the patio to sip morning coffee, reading a newspaper, watching birds, or sunrise/sunset is quite an enjoyment. There is a fire pit with two stone benches near the patio surrounded by cacti and desert plants. Even in Nov, there were plenty of birds including hummingbirds, and butterflies around the house. There is enough separation for privacy between the casita and the main house.

For entertainment, you have access to Netflix, Amazon Prime movies, YouTube and a few other media sources. The casita has limited live TV programs such as NBC, CBS and other commercial networks, but through Roku you can stream delayed news and other programs. The wifi is strong throughout the house. There are also travel info, books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, audio equipment, and a radio in the house. Compared to other VRBO places we have stayed in, the casita has the most for entertainment.

Many previous reviewers have commented about the location of the casita. It is convenient for shopping, easy access to nature or parks, and a 15-minute drive to downtown. As regular Tucson visitors, we really appreciate all the benefits this location offers. It is no wonder that the casita consistently gets excellent reviews from everyone.

We look forward to our many returns to the casita in the future.

Beautiful house and a great location.

  • 5 of 5

Our families enjoyed the property very much. We stayed for a couple of nights and had everything we needed. The casita is exactly as described. Great location with beautiful views. The house is gorgeous and Carella checked in with us via email to make sure we were doing OK. Thank you for the great experience.

Much more than exceeded our expectations

  • 5 of 5

The home was beyond amazing, better than described. Private yet close. In the desert yet minutes to stores, etc.. Mom and my wife sat and chatted each morning with their coffee out on the deck enjoying the various birds and wildlife.Just a few minutes to hiking trails. Truly outstanding. The home was more than fully stocked, from glasses and plates to cooking utensils to the washer and dryer. No detail left untouched. It was as though we outfitted the home as though we live in it fulltime. The owner was sweet and caring as exhibited to telling us if we need anything just ask, and i am sure she would help. Even had a book to explain appliances, where stores are to having DVD's in the rare event it were to rain. We will stay here whenever we visit. Thank you

A very comfortable casita and an awesome location.

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I stayed for one week and fell in love with place. The setting in middle of the desert is terrific. Bird watching was great and never got tired of just waling the property and among on the desert vegetation. The casita is very comfortable and ample room with just the 2 of us. There is definitely room for a couple, couples; and/or a family. The furnishings are great. Awesome bedding, all of the kitchen items you will need for your stay, including a blender and crockpot. The patio is a great place for your morning coffee and sunrise. The pool is perfect and a great way to end the day after out seeing the sights of the Tucson area. From the casita you have easy access to anything you want to do in the area. We did day trips to Patagonia, Tubac and many of the sights around Tucson and the central location made it easy to get to any of these places. We intend to return and hope to stay much longer than a week the next time.

Carella's casita

  • 5 of 5

This place is awesome! It is close to everything you could ever want to do in the Tucson area (which is a lot), clean, spacious immaculate, secluded, quiet - we couldn't have asked for more. If we ever return to the Tucson area, we will return to this house if possible. Highly recommended!

Another wonderful week!

  • 5 of 5

This is the third time we have stayed at Carella's Casita. Once again it was a wonderful experience. My sister and I came down for a week of R & R and had a great relaxing time. The Casita is everything we needed and more. The swimming pool was excellent once again. The weather was perfect for spending the afternoons out at the pool and soaking up the beautiful Arizona sun. The wildlife is amazing, Hummingbirds, quail, doves, jackrabbits, butterflies and more. I highly recommend the Casita and have plans of going back again next year.
