Hank and Mariangela
Why Hank and Mariangela chose Virgin
Building this place here in Zion was a fulfillment of a dream that my wife Mariangela had during her undergraduate years with a dear friend who died of AIDS a long time ago. Her dream was to design and build a place where people could come and "unplug" from the tethers of their lives and be in-touch with their "True Selves" and have an intimate experience with those they came with and Zion. We built this place in Zion originally as a retreat center whereby guests would come to compose music, write books, design artwork, or have men’s or women’s, yoga or other types of retreats. Therefore, we designed the bedrooms to be small yet beautiful with the emphasis is on the community space. We have had guests from as small as one person, to honeymoon couples, to family reunions, corporate team building, to outdoor weddings. As a result of being located actually inside the park, it was necessary to design and build a fairly sophisticated and comprehensive off the grid facility with tracking solar panels, automatic computerized generator back-up, well and water filtrations systems, satellite internet and TV, etc.. As a result, my wife and I live on the property to of course enjoy Zion but also to maintain those systems to be transparent to our guests. Our dwelling is separate but attached to the retreat center/vacation rental. We of course are on the property should you have any questions, but absolutely respect our guests’ privacy.

Everything was fantastic! The house, the property and the location as each wonderful. Hank, property owner, was onsight and made things very simple. Definitely a place to return to!
Amazing retreat space
Hank and his wife are the best of hosts and we are so very grateful to them for sharing their amazing home with us. ... surrounded and enveloped with beauty and tranquility everywhere the eye sees. The fact that we could step outside and walk to trailheads without getting in the car was the best ! Thanks for all the great recommendations, Hank. We will certainly be back.
Beautiful, Amazing, Peaceful, Comfortable place to stay!
We had four adults and five kids aged 15-9. The property was beautiful and the kids loved having a large area to play. There are nice walks/hikes from the property. The house is comfortable and we didn’t feel like we were missing anything. The owners are very kind, helpful and knowledgeable providing guidance to the local things our families wanted to experience. We highly recommend this house And we’re glad we weren’t right in town. We would come back. Thanks for the great experience Hank!
Peaceful and magical....
An oasis in Zion, far from the crowds, right in the middle of the magic of the red rocks. The house is just stunning and provided our extended family with an amazing home base. The beauty of the property is just stunning. The hosts are friendly and knowledgeable and available without being intrusive. I can’t recommend this beautiful sanctuary highly enough.
Very cozy place with an amazing view and a lot of space. The place had everything we needed.
Our whole family of 8 (and 3 dogs) were very comfortable in the rooms, and there was plenty of space for more people. The view was amazing and we were able to use the bbq to cook some good meals. Unfortunately because of the rain, we were not able to take advantage of the outdoor fireplace and jacuzzi. Hank was great and was willing and eager to help with nearby hiking trails and attractions. I would highly recommend staying here. You will not regret it!
"True North", A Little Piece of Heaven!
Our family spent three nights here, our 4 twenty-something children and my husband and I, and agree it is a magical and rare place! The owners, Hank and Mariangela are very accommodating and have put great effort into equipping the house to make it as serene, welcoming and comfortable as possible! There are paths and wind chimes and an aura of peace, incredible vistas, comfortable beds and couches; in short a perfect place to unwind and re-connect!
