I'm from NYC, but always loved going away to summer camp as a kid. What I've tried to re-create here is what I would call the experience of 'getting away'. An easy-care country house with lots of outdoor living space, gardens, wooded area and a babbling brook. And indoors a great room with fireplace and lots of seating for a group to relax.
Suzanne purchased this house in 2000
Why Suzanne chose Milan
I must have looked at over 40 properties that were under a 2 hour commute from Manhattan. I was like Goldilocks. This is my perfect "not so big house" in the country. It's located on a private, quiet country road set- back from the street with land and plenty of privacy but close enough to town and key amenities like great restaurants, stores, groceries, movies the arts, parks. It's north of Rhinebeck, south of Hudson, east of Kingston and northwest of the Berkshires.
What makes this house unique
People tell me that it's cozy and that they love the private setting in the woods and the two large decks plus the opportunity to walk around the babbling brook. And the proximity to every thing you could possibly want to visit.
