Lovely situation. Ideal getaway in tranquil surroundings and ideal base for visiting the Area.
Francoise welcomed us with strawberries and supplied us with salad from their own garden.
Ideal spot to tour round the Dordogne . Shame it rained a lot as we had an open top car! We stayed 10 nights and enjoyed it. The only improvement would be to supply fresh towels and bed sheets after a week, 10 days is a long time without fresh linen. There was a washing machine which we used for our clothes but the clothes airer was not big enough for sheets and with the inclament weather they would not dry and air in a day to go back in use the same day. Otherwise ideal. Our hosts came and saw us off on the morning we left. I would not hesitate to recommend .
Comfortable, peaceful & relaxing.
Lovely owners made us feel very welcome. Gite was well equipped, clean & comfortable. Gardens spacious. We felt instantly relaxed upon arrival. Great area for exploring the Dordogne. We would be very happy to return.
Lesley and Anthony are very pleasant, enthusiast and quiet persons. We were very happy to meet and to welcome them "aux Vieilles Granges"!.
we 'll be really glad of seeing you another time!
Take care of you! Thanks a lot, Lesly and Anthony!

Wonderful Hosts, Beautiful and Peaceful Location
My wife, myself, and my 6 year old son stayed in the gite La Borie for a week in the summer of 2014. The hosts, Francoise and Charles, were truly 'chaleureuse'. It was clear that Francoise really loves children; she welcomed our son like he was her own grandson coming to visit and was always happy to engage him in fun conversations. We enjoyed the pool when the weather permitted and went on several walks in the surrounding countryside when we weren't exploring various ruins or caves in the area. I would highly recommend arranging for a prepared meal. The food and wine were great and the conversation was better. Many of the ingredients came from their beautiful garden. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked for making meals. I would also recommend going to the Wednesday market in St. Genies, which is more like a open-air dinner for the whole community. It was pretty fun sitting down with a big plate of duck and frites elbow to elbow with the locals.
Cosy gite in lovely surroundings
The gite is very well equipped, clean and cosy. There is everything you need for a comfortable relaxing holiday. The grounds and pool are very quiet and peaceful and the patio area behind the gite is very well equipped with fantastic views. The local are is beautiful - typical Dordogne medieval villages and gorgeous scenery. Well placed to visit many places. Francoise and Charles are very friendly hosts and very helpful. Would highly recommend this gite and the area for families and couples alike.
Lovely stay in a beautiful setting
We stayed in La Salamandre gite last summer, with my parents and our little boy 5yrs and our 12 week old baby,it was absolutely beautiful, the owners Charles and Francoise were so welcoming and helpful, our little boy especially loved the open space to run around and play games. The pool area is lovely too nice and private and very clean. The gite its self was perfect it had everything we needed and was really well kept and immaculately clean! The gite is situated in a gorgeous hamlet close to various stunning towns and villages with lots to do! I would certainly recommend this to any family thinking of holidaying in France! We came back feeling totally relaxed and would definitely go back again! Family Heslop, North Yorkshire, England
