About Martha Howard, Gulf Coast Keyholders and Exit Realty, Gulf Shores

Owner Brian Murray (left), pictured here with property manager Martha Howard (center) and partner David Kilborn (right) bought this cottage so he could be near family when he retires. Until then he wants to share it with others who want to get away for some quiet time near the water. As the "parent" of three fuzzy four legged "children" Brian knows just how hard it can be to find a pet friendly place to spend a vacation. Clovis, Mimi, and Sissy are looking forward to spending their golden years on Mobile Bay.

Why Martha Howard, Gulf Coast Keyholders and Exit Realty, Gulf Shores chose Alabama Gulf Coast

Not only did David grow up in this area but his sisters, nieces and nephews live here too. As for the home, there is not a more beautiful spot on the bay - the view, the old oaks with Spanish moss hanging from their limbs, the gentle lap of the water, the spacious yard, the quiet setting and peaceful surroundings simply spoke of home. The large yard and distance from the busy highway also made this home a perfect spot for children and pets.

What makes this cottage unique

This property offers a guest a different view of Gulf Shores. Quiet and secluded under old oaks this home is far away from the vacation rental crowd. Guests experience what it is like to live along the bay on the island's Ft Morgan peninsula. Sunsets are unparalleled from the pier it shares with its two neighbors. For those who want to play in the Gulf waters the beach at the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge is almost across the street. A two minute drive will take you to its pristine shore where you can swim, fish, walk, shell and bask in the rays. Located about nine miles from town it is a quick trip to the center of the action, shops, restaurants, and attractions if you can tear yourself away from the front porch.

A little jewel of a cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Bay Leave - the cottage is a little jewel, with everything a person needs to be comfortable. It was also very dog friendly, which my pups appreciated. Martha seemed to have anticipated all the things someone would need while there and was very easy to work with. My husband liked the easy access to fishing while I found plenty of painting and sketching subjects. Very friendly place, too - I enjoyed meeting people and everyone had good recommendations for what to do, where to go, eat, etc. All in all, this is a great place to recharge your batteries - we walked away from all the peaceful quiet feeling refreshed and rested.

Very Clean,Quiet, and has everything you need

  • 5 of 5

We vacationed here for a week and it was great. The house is so nice, very clean quiet, and has everything. The only things you need to bring are clothes and food. It has great TV , internet, washer and dryer fully equipped kitchen, and linens(towels). The bed was so comfortable we slept so good plus its so quiet there too. The property manager was so nice and helpful (thanks Martha). We would recommend this spot to everyone. The area is great too lots to do. Thanks for a great vacation Tony and Gail Smith

Wonderful, relaxing stay with our dog

  • 5 of 5

We had a terrific time at Bay Leave with our bulldog Spanky in tow. The home was perfectly detailed, had everything you could possibly need, was clean beyond belief and the location was to die for. You could see the bay and dock from the screened-in porch (which was our favorite place to relax) - so beautiful, quiet. Martha was unbelievably responsive to any question we had - within minutes!! My husband and I (and Spanky!) highly recommend Bay Leave and wish we could have stayed longer.

What a wonderful home! We have never been able too find a home that would allow our large dogs.

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for my husband, dogs and I. We took our German Shepard and golden retriever on vacation for the first time and it was perfect. The home was more than stocked, my mother rents a vacation home and this one had so much more. Love the yard, bay, view and beaches. I will suggest brink your food and supplies need before you get there as any resort area food, beverages and other always way high. Closes liquor stores everything was 20-30 dollars higher, ouch! I get being a bit more but that was way more than a mark up.

If you do bring dogs, be aware 2 dogs living in area run loose, they are nice dogs. Martha was great and the home is very clean, fenced yard was just right. Hope we got most of the dog hair up for you Martha they can shed something crazy, thanks again, we will be back in a couple of years. 😎 The Best family.

Perfect quiet getaway for the family and the family pet

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Bay leave for 3 nights and couldn't have been happier with the accommodations and the pet friendly amenities. The location is perfect for those looking to get away from the crowds and enjoy some quiet time on the back bay. Martha was extremely helpful with every step along the way and the house included everything you could think of to help you enjoy your stay.

I would highly recommend this house for a couple, small family, or anyone looking to bring their pet to the beach. The fenced in yard was perfect for our little dog and gave us the peace of mind you don't normally get when staying in a condo. It was a short drive to a dog friendly beach in Morgantown subdivision (great beach for people without dogs as well).

This is our first time staying in the Fort Morgan area and we were pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get into Gulf Shores for dining, shopping, or grabbing carry out from our favorite Pizza and Oyster place (Rocco's!!). Normally we like to dine out, but we got carry out instead every night because we couldn't wait get back to this little getaway.

The owners are clearly pet lovers and have made bringing your little furry friends to the beach a no-brainer.

Relaxing in Paridise

  • 5 of 5

Bay Leave Cottage was such a pleasant surprised. The property was very clean, nicely furnished and has a wonderful view of the bay.If you like to cook you'll find everything you need .If not ,there are several eateries near by. We enjoyed the sunsets from the pier and strolled on the nearby Gulf beaches. It did rain one day but the property has extensive cable channels ,a new wireless internet system and games that kept us entertained. I loved relaxing on the screen porch and looking out at the bay through the most beautiful old growth oak grove I've seen.

The home is truly dog friendly but you'd never suspect it other than the fence in area that allowed us to let our furry friends out without worry. No odors in this home.

Martha was a gracious host. We'll defiantly return !
