|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Yosemite’s Favorite Basecamp meets the needs of almost all travelers. Couples will enjoy the privacy of the entire property to themselves when they rent the Midpines House. Larger groups (up to 10 people) are able to spread out while still enjoying each other's company. This place is very private and very special.
The House is newly remodeled and very comfortably.
Master bedroom has queen sized bed, a loveseat, and comes stocked with high thread count sheets and goose down duvet. The attached bathroom has granite countertops, a 'tall-person' shower and thick fluffy towels.
The Guest bedroom also has a queen sized bed and a nice view of the night sky and surrounding mountains.
The livingroom has a fold out couch and separate futon style beds.
There is a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, quartz counter tops, completely stocked with modern cooking and baking tools.
The spacious, open living & dining room has plenty of seating, a 42' Flat Screen TV, and a wood-burning stove.
The Hot Tub is surrounded by a large wrap-around redwood deck. The back Patio has a 6 person dining table, a Gas BBQ, a Fire bowl and plenty of additional seating.
The "Bungalow" is a detached game room. We added it to allow larger groups to spread out. Adults enjoy having a place for their children to watch TV or play games while they enjoy the back patio. The Bungalow gameroom is separate from the house (about 300 ft away) and offers the same amenities as the house minus the full kitchen. The Bungalow has a very large living room area attached to the bar area. The bar has a mini fridge, a sink, and seating for six at a unique wood slab bar top. Above the bar is a small TV. In the living room, enjoy a large flat screen TV, leather couch, a Foosball table, and a remote controlled gas fireplace. There is a nice patio outside the Bungalow and a covered porch to enjoy even in the winter.
A short drive through the gorgeous Merced River canyon brings you to Yosemite National Park. Ample free parking on site. Back yard patio has hammocks in the summer, fire pit in the winter - the perfect place to gaze at the stars. The House and Bungalow are tastefully decorated with National Park themed photographs and paintings, many by local artists. Everything about the Midpines House and Bungalow are new and fresh.
Owners Ansley and Kelly have spent the past 5 years remodeling the property to be the perfect vacation rental for your family and friends

Ansley & Kelly Singer
We have lived and worked in Yosemite National Park our whole lives. Please enjoy our home on your next trip to the Sierras.
Ansley Singer purchased this house in 2007
We originally bought the Midpines House to live in full time. It's location made getting to and from Yosemite very easy and we enjoyed owning our own property (working for the Park Service, we had been living in government housing).
Midpines, which is between Yosemite and Mariposa, has great oak and pine trees, stays cooler than the lower elevations nearby, and provides great access to one of the best rivers in the state - the Merced River.
After a successful summer of renting the Midpines House we converted 740 square feet of our detached garage into the Midpines Bungalow (a large gameroom). We hope that this additional space will allow more people to enjoy our home, and accommodate families traveling together or larger groups.
Surrounded by 5 acres of amazing property, the Midpines House and Bungalow gives you room to spread out.
We love sitting on the decks, admiring the views of the mountains.
The open feel of the house, having friends over, cooking a great meal in the kitchen, and relaxing by the fire are some of my favorite times in this home.
Great memories are made sitting under the stars, taking a soak in the unique cedar jetted hot tub, and sunbathing on the master bedroom deck.
People of all ages love this home, it will be compfortable for your family as you explore all that Yosemite has to offer.
I have to admit that I am very sad we are leaving tomorrow! Three nights is simply not enough to enjoy Yosemite and this perfect retreat! Thank you for renting this place out, we had an amazing time and will be back, next time for a week!
We rented the Midpines House for the long Thanksgiving weekend. We spent our days exploring Yosemite (about a 30 minute drive) followed by a wonderful soak in the hot tub. We stayed cozy warm inside with the wood burning stove and were very pleased with the kitchen amenities (since we were cooking a full turkey dinner). The house had some great outdoor features - patio, grill, etc. that we did not take advantage of, but were thoughtfully provided. We would definitely recommend the Midpines House for any season!
This is one of the best places we have ever rented for our vacation.
Everything is as described in the property details. It is very well equipped, clean and the location is brilliant. It is quiet and well away from the neighbouring dwellings. You have the total sense of being alone in the woods.
For getting to Yosemite it couldn't be any easier. On to the main road less than a quarter of a mile away, turn left and drive for around 30 mins depending on how many times you may stop to take in the amazing scenery on the route in.
The hot tub was used daily, and is a perfect place to observe the very clear skies at night. The Milky Way is perfectly clear, and you can watch satellites and see shooting stars all the time. We were lucky enough to catch a meteor which was an amazing sight as it re-entered the atmosphere.
There's plenty of wildlife to be seen too. We had deer and multiple bird species, including woodpeckers, in the grounds during our stay.
We wished we'd used the annex/games room more but there is just so much to do in the area and Yosemite there just wasn't enough time.
Mariposa is a great little town. Reviews elsewhere say that the Pioneer Market is expensive due to being the only place within 30 miles, but we found this not that true, maybe a dollar more than you would pay for a slab of beer for instance. The meat selection is great though, and perfect for the grill back at the lodge.
So, if you love the outdoors and are visiting Yosemite, but also love looking at the night skies or wildlife, then this is the place for you.
We loved The Midpines House. The owners had thought of every detail to ensure that we had a carefree and relaxing stay. The location and grounds are beautiful and the décor and design of the house is perfect. The whole process from booking to check-out went really smoothly and they provided some really helpful information. The hot tub, after a long day, was fabulous - we wish we had had more time to use that facility. Being so close to the lovely town of Mariposa, as well as an easy drive into Yosemite, was such a bonus as well.
We just stayed at The Midpines house for the 3rd time and I can definitely say we'll be back. We love the privacy, the house is clean and well stocked...the layout is also perfect! Our dogs enjoy the acreage behind the house and the hot tub is fabulous. This time we added the bungalow which gave us more room to spread out and we loved the big screen/stereo for Olympic game watching 😃
Thank you Ansley & Kelly for sharing your fabulous home!
This is a well maintained property that the owners take pride in. That attention to detail is demonstrated in the home's appearance, amenities and quick response times. Because of our large party, we were able to take advantage of both the house and bungalow homes. Both homes were well stocked in the kitchen with kitchen tools, gadgets and leftover cooking ingredients. It made it easy to cook every morning/evening especially because we also had access to the outdoor grill. And if you were missing anything, a large grocery store was only minutes away in Mariposa. We had children in our party and the homes and property offered plenty of board/card games, video games and foosball to combat boredom. I think they had the most fun on the tree swing that runs near the dry creek bed. While it was hot during our trip, both homes made efficient use of a swamp cooler that pulled cool air in and maintained a comfortable temperature. We had some minor maintenance issues during our weeklong stay, however the owners Kelly & Ansley responded quickly, and the items were taken care of the same day before we returned from our day trip to Yosemite. Speaking of the owners, they did a great job providing information about the surrounding area and the park. We especially loved the nice touch of the welcoming note and wine bottle. Every morning and evening, we'd spend our time relaxing on the hammocks or the hot tub being serenaded by the wind chime that was hand made in Mariposa. We liked it so much, we picked one up in town for our very own. All in all, a great place to just "get off the grid" and relax with Yosemite a short hour away. We highly recommend this property! TIP: While the house provides WiFi, we suggest downloading offline maps of the area via Google Maps since much of the surrounding area near the house has no cell phone coverage - (AT&T & Sprint anyway).
