Overview

About the property

Modern house close to Yosemite, sleeps up to 10

Yosemite’s Favorite Basecamp meets the needs of almost all travelers. Couples will enjoy the privacy of the entire property to themselves when they rent the Midpines House. Larger groups (up to 10 people) are able to spread out while still enjoying each other's company. You can choose to add on the Bungalow for more space. Parties over 8 persons automatically rent the house and Bungalow, while parties of 8 or less can add it on for additional fees. This place is very private and very special. The Master bedroom has queen sized bed, a loveseat, and comes stocked with high thread count sheets and goose down duvet. The attached bathroom has granite countertops, a 'tall-person' shower and thick fluffy towels.

The Guest bedroom also has a queen sized bed and a nice view of the night sky and surrounding mountains.

The livingroom has a fold out couch and separate futon style beds.

There is a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, quartz counter tops, completely stocked with modern cooking and baking tools.

The spacious, open living & dining room has plenty of seating, a 42' Flat Screen TV, and a wood-burning stove.

The Hot Tub is surrounded by a large wrap-around redwood deck. The back Patio has a 6 person dining table, a Gas BBQ, a Fire bowl and plenty of additional seating.

The "Bungalow" is a detached game room. We added it to allow larger groups to spread out. Adults enjoy having a place for their children to watch TV or play games while they enjoy the back patio. The Bungalow gameroom is separate from the house (about 300 ft away) and offers the same amenities as the house minus the full kitchen. The Bungalow has a very large living room area attached to the bar area. The bar has a mini fridge, a sink, and seating for six at a unique wood slab bar top. Above the bar is a small TV. In the living room, enjoy a large flat screen TV, leather couch, a Foosball table, and a remote controlled gas fireplace. There is a nice patio outside the Bungalow and a covered porch to enjoy even in the winter.

A short drive through the gorgeous Merced River canyon brings you to Yosemite National Park. Ample free parking on site. Back yard patio has hammocks in the summer, fire pit in the winter - the perfect place to gaze at the stars. The House and Bungalow are tastefully decorated with National Park themed photographs and paintings, many by local artists. Everything about the Midpines House and Bungalow are new and fresh.

About Ansley Singer

Ansley & Kelly Singer

We have lived and worked in Yosemite National Park our whole lives. Please enjoy our home on your next trip to the Sierras.

Ansley Singer purchased this house in 2007

Why Ansley Singer chose Yosemite Area

We originally bought the Midpines House to live in full time. It's location made getting to and from Yosemite very easy and we enjoyed owning our own property (working for the Park Service, we had been living in government housing).

Midpines, which is between Yosemite and Mariposa, has great oak and pine trees, stays cooler than the lower elevations nearby, and provides great access to one of the best rivers in the state - the Merced River.

After a successful summer of renting the Midpines House we converted 740 square feet of our detached garage into the Midpines Bungalow (a large gameroom). We hope that this additional space will allow more people to enjoy our home, and accommodate families traveling together or larger groups.

What makes this house unique

Surrounded by 5 acres of amazing property, the Midpines House and Bungalow gives you room to spread out.

We love sitting on the decks, admiring the views of the mountains.

The open feel of the house, having friends over, cooking a great meal in the kitchen, and relaxing by the fire are some of my favorite times in this home.

Great memories are made sitting under the stars, taking a soak in the unique cedar jetted hot tub, and sunbathing on the master bedroom deck.

People of all ages love this home, it will be compfortable for your family as you explore all that Yosemite has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I have to admit that I am very sad we are leaving tomorrow! Three nights is simply not enough to enjoy Yosemite and this perfect retreat! Thank you for renting this place out, we had an amazing time and will be back, next time for a week!

Our stay in Midpines was absolutely perfect and exactly how we pictured it!

  • 5 of 5

The Midpines home was a great distance to Yosemite. The home was exactly how it was pictured with comfortable beds, a nice kitchen with everything equipped, a nice washer and dryer and cozy decor and furniture! We enjoyed eating in and traveling the short distance to Mariposa for the great restaurants there! We highly recommend the Midpines home!

Beautiful and peaceful setting that's convenient to the park.

  • 4 of 5

We loved the house - lovely and comfortable with everything we needed to feel at home. Mariposa is a cute little town that was fun to explore and Yosemite is just a hop, skip, and a jump away!

Great family getaway

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed staying at the Midpines House because it provided us easy access to Yosemite. The house was comfortable and the fully stocked kitchen made it easy for us to cook and feel at home. We also enjoyed the hot tub after hiking in the park! The only thing that I would mention is that on the day of arrival, the beds were not made and the house was not stocked with towels. Apparently there was some confusion with the cleaners. Ansley was quick to resolve the issue by sending someone right away and she even deducted part of our rental fees. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to visit Yosemite as a family.

Cozy, contemporary mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

The Midpines House was a wonderful place to stay for our short Yosemite vacation. It had good proximity to the park and also to the dining and shopping in Mariposa. It was comfortably appointed and had a beautiful, well stocked kitchen. The hot tub and outdoor dining space were our favorite places to hang out . I highly recommend this property!

A nice property in a beautiful setting

  • 4 of 5

We were two couples who stayed four days and "commuted" into Yosemite. It took about an hour or so to get to the Valley each day, depending on traffic - which could be dense.

The house is very nice. Not fancy but very comfortable for the four of us. It has nice amenities, including a large, satellite enabled TV (Go Giants!) and an excellently appointed kitchen. We like to cook and we had pretty much everything we needed to make some good food while we were there. Also, a wood burning stove, which was great since it was pretty chilly the first couple of nights we were there. The heat in the house works fine but it was nice and cozy with a fire in the stove. The owners were very responsive to questions and were prepared to handle any issues that might arise. All in all, a nice place to stay.
