About Krista Kujat

Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, I moved to NY in 2000 to pursue my passion for acting in film & theatre. I fell in love with Brooklyn, and I dreamt of one day owning a brownstone. That dream became a reality 5 years later. I'm an avid world traveller & always appreciate staying in non-toursity, local neighborhoods, so it gives me a lot of joy to create a space for visitors to discover, enjoy the soul of my neighborhood. Several films have since been shot at this location, and I still get requests for film shoots here. Come experience the charm & live your own adventure in Brooklyn!

Krista Kujat purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Krista Kujat chose Crown Heights

I love the charm of old brownstones, and this particular building had the rare details in tact, stained glass windows, gorgeous wood details that are often destroyed when buildings are renovated. The location, just a 5 minute walk from the subway was also a no-brainer!

What makes this apartment unique

The garden is truly a rare delight, very few apartments in Brooklyn have private garden space. Inspired by my travels to Thailand, I created a garden oasis with pond and waterfall. Be sure to chill in the hammock after a hectic day in the city!

Great Family Holiday Stay!

  • 5 of 5

A very comfortable apartment. The 2 bedrooms were perfect for our family of 4. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom functionality worked well. The weather was cold during our stay but the apartment was well heated. We were conveniently located close to our Brooklyn family which was nice. We also enjoyed many good restaurants in the area. All in all, a great holiday stay!

It really feels like home away from home. Stayed for the second time.

  • 5 of 5

Krista made al lot of effort to make you feel at home. Everything is provided. Great welcome with delicious banana bread. The garden apartment has a lovely garden, nice to relax in after a day walking through New York. Also the neighborhood is very vividly, many young people, lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. For visiting other parts of Brooklyn or Manhattan is easy to take the subway, only a short walk away. This was our second time we've stayed here and would certainly like to stay here again if we should visit New York another time.

Lovely sanctuary in the heart of Brooklyn!

  • 4 of 5

If you're looking for a great urban experience in NYC - Krista's Garden Suite is a great base to work from! It is a very clean, cozy, and yet spacious (two separate bedrooms and large parlor/living room), flat with a relaxing private zen garden in the heart of Brooklyn. The apartment offers a comfortable combination of Old World charm (a traditional brownstone with many fine features), and modern decor from being recently refurbished.

While not on-site, Krista is an excellent hostess who manages to take care of every detail. She really cares that her guests have a great experience.

The apartment is located on a tree-lined street in a somewhat hip/transitional neighborhood (with many cafes and restaurants) just a few blocks from a major subway station providing easy access to Manhattan and other parts of the City. It is also within walking distance of many local attractions, B'klyn Museum, Children's Museum, Botanical Gardens and Prospect Park. Our 8 year old son loved exploring the park, its many playgrounds, and especially kayaking in the lake there :-)

This flat would be perfect for a family vacation or a romantic getaway.
