Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, I moved to NY in 2000 to pursue my passion for acting in film & theatre. I fell in love with Brooklyn, and I dreamt of one day owning a brownstone. That dream became a reality 5 years later. I'm an avid world traveller & always appreciate staying in non-toursity, local neighborhoods, so it gives me a lot of joy to create a space for visitors to discover, enjoy the soul of my neighborhood. Several films have since been shot at this location, and I still get requests for film shoots here. Come experience the charm & live your own adventure in Brooklyn!
Krista Kujat purchased this apartment in 2005
I love the charm of old brownstones, and this particular building had the rare details in tact, stained glass windows, gorgeous wood details that are often destroyed when buildings are renovated. The location, just a 5 minute walk from the subway was also a no-brainer!
The garden is truly a rare delight, very few apartments in Brooklyn have private garden space. Inspired by my travels to Thailand, I created a garden oasis with pond and waterfall. Be sure to chill in the hammock after a hectic day in the city!
The Brownstone apartment was perfect for our group of four. The neighborhood was real with diversity, families apartments and restaurants. It gave us a true Brooklyn experience. We took the sub to the other Burroughs and it was easy and also another experience. I will recommend this place to anyone that wants culture and the comfort of home
THE LAYOUT WAS QUIRKY ,AND THE BEDS WERE A BIT SMALL ,THE GARDEN WAS IN NEED OF A TIDY UP ,AS THE WEATHER WAS INCLEMENT WE DID NOT USE IT ,WE FOUND THE COMMUTE TO MANHATTAN TOO LONG 15 SUBWAY STOPS , THERE ARE A LOT OF NICE RESTAURANTS CLOSE BY ,THE LOCAL INFORMATION PROVIDED WAS HELFUL AND ACCURATE, it maybe because we are in our 60s that it was a bit far
beautiful clean and silent apartment in the heart of brooklyn with a nice neighborhood with nice restaurants
We completely loved our stay at this apartment! It is a very quaint apartment in a great neighborhood! We had barely arrived and were unloading our vehicle and a neighbor stopped to welcome us and point out the best street for restaurants etc (Franklin St).The Bagel Pub on Franklin St has great bagels! Subway is not hard to find and once we downloaded the subway map on to our phone we had no problem getting around. Krista was great to deal with and responded to our texts and emails promptly..the banana bread that was waiting for us when we arrived was a nice touch and delicious! Just a heads up that the sofa bed is exactly what you would expect a sofa bed mattress to feel like..okay for teenagers but I wouldn't recommend the bed for someone a little older. This apartment and the appliances, bedding and towels were all very clean. We would definitely recommend this apartment and would love to stay here again if we come back to NYC.
