The Cypress House is a traditional Skopeliot house in a quiet residential neighborhood about 5 minutes walk from the bustling harbor and port with its taverns, shops and galleries. It is close to the ancient Byzantine Kastro and near to two lovely churches: Aghios Panteleimonas and Tris Ierarhes.
A short walk takes you to the perimeter road, which is the nearest access for cars and taxis. Local traditional shops are available a short walk away offering everything you should need for self-catering. Many of Skopelos' finest restaurants are within the neighborhood, and all the seafront cafes and shops are only a short walk away down at the harbor and port.
There is maid service once weekly. Sheets, blankets and towels are provided but we ask you to use your own towels for the beach, and bring your own soap and toiletries.
On arrival in the port you will be met by our manager and conducted to the Cypress House and shown its facilities. We will always be on hand during your visit for any information you may need.
Ground Floor: From the Entrance with patio table and chairs you come first to a lovely Kitchen/Dining Room with traditional fireplace, stovetop/oven, fridge/freezer, sink, ample storage and a cherry wood table that seats up to 8. Adjacent to the Kitchen is a Shower Room and WC.
First Floor: On the first floor you will find a spacious Bedroom, with queen-size bed, a traditional fireplace, air conditioning, roomy wardrobe and library. A folding bed/sofa offers the ability for an additional guest in the bedroom.
Top Floor: On the top floor is the stunning and spacious Living Room with convertible double bed/sofa and the original high chestnut wood ceiling. French windows at the front give access to a traditional town house balcony with lovely views over the rooftops to the distant hills beyond. To the rear, a door opens onto a cool and private courtyard garden, with plants, umbrella and eating/lounging area and the Cypress tree which gives the house its name.
Wireless internet and cable TV is provided.
Wished for a place to stay in Skopelos old town, and fell in love with the Cypress House from the pictures! The house owner has been very service minded and professionel the whole way, and put us in contact with his local manager who met us when we arrived in Skopelos and showed us the house.
The house is situated in a short walking distance from the harbour, where you find restaurants and shops. Very friendly and genuinely Greek neighbourhood.
The pictures gave an accurate impression of the house, and the house was clean and neat when we arrived. Free wifi. The patio in the back of the house provides shade and privacy. Loved it!
We rented scooters to get around the island on our own, and it is possible to park in a small square 50 m from the house.
All in all we were very happy with our stay in Skopelos and Cypress House, and we are already planning on going back next year.
Dieses schöne alte Haus am Hang war gut geeignet für unsere fünfköpfige Familie. Die Beschreibungen waren korrekt. Man bekommt auch etwas vom Lebensalltag der Inselbewohner mit und kann mit öffentlichen Bussen bequem über die Insel fahren.
Vicini al centro, appartamento grande anche se eravamo in 5 adulti, casa tipica e molto carina. Unico neo, dal porto lunga salita ma soprattutto 40 scalini per raggiungere la casa. Nel complesso però ottima scelta
Nice traditional house, located uphill in the pedestrian old village in a quiet zone. Possibility to park the car close by (5 min and a few stairs). The house is well equipped. The living room at the last floor with access to the small internal garden is really pleasant. The other rooms (bedroom at the 1st floor) are charming even if the ceiling is relatively low (be ready to duck your head if ever you are more than 1m90 as it is my case).
La maison est en tous points fidèle à la description faite sur le site. Très bien située dans un environnement calme,, il ne faut pas plus de 5mn pour se retrouver au coeur de l'activité du port.
Skopelos est une ile agréable dont les plages principales sont très bien desservies par le bus local. Nous y avons passé 5 jours des plus agréables.
Wir haben eine Woche in dieser empfehlenswerten Unterkunft verbracht. Es handelt sich um ein kleines Häuschen in der Altstadt von Skopelos. Die Lage ist gut, so dass man zu Fuss von der Fähre zum Haus kommt, oder auch um abends am Hafen in einer der vielen Tavernen einzukehren. Um Ausflüge zu machen oder um zu einem der Strände zu kommen, empfiehlt sich ein Auto oder Moped.
Die Ausstattung ist absolut ausreichend und entspricht der Beschreibung. Gefallen hat uns, das es eine Waschmaschine gab. Auch die Terasse ist schön. Wenn das Wetter nicht so gut ist (gibt es Anfang Juni tatsächlich in Griechenland) hat man ein schönes Wohnzimmer, um sich auch mal länger aufzuhalten.
Es gibt ein Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett, auch insgesamt von der Grösse her ideal für 2 Personen.
Nachteil: kein Internet und (für uns nicht ganz so wichtig) keine int. Fernsehprogramme.
Der Kontakt mit dem Besitzer war sehr nett und unkompliziert. Vor Ort gibt es einen Manager, der immer erreichbar war, uns von der Fähre abgeholt und Alles gezeigt hat. Somit war auch die Anreise problemlos.
Wir haben den Aufenthalt genossen und kommen gerne wieder.
We are located on one of Skopelos Town's famous cobblestone streets. You will walk past shops, groceries, and restaurants on the way up from the Port. We are located only 50 meters from Anna's Restaurant.
