About the property

Luxury 2 Bedroom House (Sleeps 4): Right On Water - 180 Degree Views!

River's Edge is truly magnificent. It sits right on the water’s edge by a beach and feels like floating over the Lake - totally romantic and breath taking. The views are literally million dollar views – River’s Edge is unique in Niagara-on-the-Lake in having complete 180 degree views from the Niagara river and Fort Niagara to the U.S. on the right to Lake Ontario and even Toronto in the far distance. And with a beach at our side gate.

From the front door to every point of this luxury cottage you have a view of the water. You can be in the kitchen making a snack or dinner and you have a view of the lake and river. The main floor of this cottage is all open plan. If you are sitting in front of the electric fireplace or watching television you have a view of the Lake and Niagara River!

Going upstairs the view from the floor to ceiling windows on the stairwell is … simply amazing! The bedroom is spectacular. You can lie in bed and still have this incredible view of the Niagara River and the Old Fort Niagara state-side, and look out to the Lake on the other. There is a whirlpool tub from where you can watch the boats and ducks go by! In River’s Edge you are in a totally different world….. while at the same time we provide free Wi-Fi so that you can stay in touch.

If you invite another couple or bring the kids along, there is the very comfortable Murphy bed in the second bedroom room that faces the very quiet street. This room also has a washer and dryer in it.

Downstairs, the sliding back doors open on to the amazing patio. The top patio is nice and it has patio furniture and BBQ/grill. The lower patio has a small relaxing pool for dipping and relaxing on summer days. Here you can sit and enjoy a glass of local wine and watch the birds and ships drift past…..

River's Edge has 2 bathrooms. There is .5 bathroom on ground floor and a full bathroom with a very large shower upstairs in addition to the en-suite Jacuzzi tub in the main bedroom.

Fully stocked with bed-linen and towels and a well-equipped kitchen for making anything from a snack to an amazing dinner.

This is River's Edge - all you need to bring is food, clothes and yourselves- for an amazing and unforgettable romantic holiday vacation !!!!!!

Comfortable, quiet,cozy,... so easy to settle in and feel at home. Easy walking distance to the festival and to the Main Street. We loved spending time here and hope to return.

A wonderful, relaxing weekend with beautiful views and comfort!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend staying at River's Edge! The house has a lot of charm and the views are stunning! The only thing we didn't like was the stale water smell coming from under the kitchen sink. We needed to open the windows to air the place out upon our arrival.

Owner's Response: Dear Sarah, Thank you very much for your review and I am delighted that you have already booked for next year! I'm staying in River's Edge myself right now for three weeks until 18th May and am enormously impressed by the 100-year high level of the lake. It's very impressive. Fortunately we are built up on piles because we are always at the water's edge, and so we have no problems. But there is now flooding through Ball's beach beside us and on to the grassy park and of course poor Montreal down river is really suffering. There were guests staying in the house until only two days before you arrived, and so the house had certainly not been closed up. I can only think that either the high amount of rain contributed something to the drains, or there was a damp cloth under the sink or something very unusual. Please let me know if you can shed any light on what you think caused the smell, and I'm very sorry that you thought we didn't merit 5 stars as that is very important to us! P.S. Thank you for your lovely reply to my follow-up email in which you said, "Please don't get me wrong...we LOVED staying there, which is why we've already booked for over a year away. :)" - You'll be very welcome when you return next June! Best wishes, Anna

Love River's Edge!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary by returning to this cozy cottage for the second time. NOTL is a quiet place in midwinter, and River's Edge creates the most relaxing and cozy home you can imagine. Mornings with a cup of coffee looking out on the Niagara River and Lake Ontario are exquisite. Walking along the shoreline a few short blocks to King Street and it's shops and restaurants in winter's brisk air is just the way life should be. We highly recommend River's Edge for an off season stay. NOTL is still all there, and all the wineries are open and much more relaxed. Trust us you'll love it!

Beautiful cottage with amazing views!!

  • 5 of 5

Four of us here for 10 nights in the summer, my husband and myself and our daughter and 10 year old grandson. It's a beautiful cottage and it was clean and very comfortable. It was really hot while we were there so it was good to have the dipping pool. We swam in the lake and went kayaking and also went on the jet boat, all activities which I would recommend. The views from the deck are amazing, you can watch the boats go by during the day and the beautiful sunsets in the evening. It's close enough to the town to walk to the restaurants and shops and is an easy drive to Niagara Falls. Overall I don't think you could ask for a cottage in a better position. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here and would definitely return if we ever visit Canada again.

Perfect spot for location and view

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay. We were 4 women on a girls getaway. The house is exactly as described and pictured. The view is amazing and the house is cozy and well appointed. The home owner was very responsive and accomodating.

We did a few wine tours on our way to the house and enjoyed the short walk to the shops in downtown NOTL. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to heat the meals and snacks we'd brought.

We hope to return!
