Great place for an overnight in the mountains
We enjoyed our stay at Iron Horse a lot. The units are small but mighty! They have all anyone would need to enjoy a great time in the mountains. Had initial issue with WiFi and owner was very responsive and helped me get access. The building is very quiet and the views from the deck are lovely. Overall we had a great time and would stay at Iron Horse again.
Comfortable stay, convenient location, good price!
The Iron Horse condo complex is dated but clean. The rooms are dated but also clean. Some rooms are more updated than this one.. Our room was sparse on kitchen tools. No sharp knife for chopping, two rolls of toilet paper for the week, 1/2 paper towel , no scrubby for pots, nor washcloth or kitchen towels. Good assortment of dishes/ pots/pans/ cookie sheets. Coffee and coffee maker but the machine is old and needs to be replaced. No creamer but sugar. No tea. Our friends unit had lots of tea, coffee, and a fully stocked kitchen with spices. This unit had coffee, sugar and salt and pepper and no crockpot. Lamp didn’t have a light bulb and light over kitchen sink didn’t work. Code didn’t work to get in to parking structure. Jeff, the owner was very responsive and gave us a new code that worked. extra Toilet paper, paper towels and a dish cloth and kitchen towel with a scrubby. The Murphy bed was comfortable, and couch was comfortable as well. Room is small but adequate for two people. Room is close to elevator for parking garage or to exit building. We were on the 4th floor of the D building. Very convenient location to village. Can ski directly to gondola from unit. Easy to ski in and out. We easily made our way back for lunch and breaks. We could always find a parking space in Our building - D. The building was quiet. The restaurant is no longer operational and no one mans the desk. The hot tub and pool are nicely maintained and a short walk. They are hard to access if you are on crutches though. Lots of stairs to get to them. Lots of blankets. But pillows need to be replaced. We could not regulate the heat. Jeff helped cool it down on the first day but we kept the heat at 59 degrees and it always too warm. We opened the sliding door to small balcony to cool it down during the day. . Nice view off balcony. You can see skiers on their way to gondola. Overall, nice stay, adequate room, good price, good location. Responsive owner. . .
Perfect location ski in ski out
Studio with Murphy bed good for two people. Some essentials missing such as sponge and tissues, probably an oversight. Extra towels for hot tub much appreciated. Very comfortable bed and very clean unit. Great value!
Clean, easy to find, great access to ski rentals and shuttle bus.
Great ski in/ ski out location for a family vacation.
4 day ski trip in Winter Park for Ski Races
My daughter skied in the U16 Regional championship and we stayed in Jeff Preston's Condo at the Iron Horse, 4044. The Condo was perfect for me and my daughter, the Murphy bed was very comfortable and the location was also very easy. The walk to and from the village we did every evening for a bite to eat and was easy and refreshing. We drove in the mornings to the car park because of all the skis to carry. Everything functioned well in the condo, except for Netflix at night, every man and his dog must be trying to watch Netflix, the temp was easy to adjust.
The gym is the best gym I have come across in a Hotel/Condo complex, only used everyday.
Would definitely stay there again if available.
Very convenient and plenty of room for the 2 of us!
Owner was very responsive. All amenities were as promised. Great way to go on a ski trip to Winter Park! We would definitely book again! Thanks, Jeff!
