Stay Away

No working lightbulbs in the lamps. Pieces of unattached molding from the cabinets lying on the floor. A disgusting old rug rolled up in the corner. A mysterious layer of moisture coating the floors. A real dump, in other words. Not to mention none of the basic cleaning supplies (dish soap, dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, etc) that most places come with. Strongly recommend finding somewhere else to stay.

Clean nice, close to beach plenty to do

Everything in the buildings was very clean. Everyone was very nice. Getting dinner was a bit of a challenge until we found the fish markets that will steam the shrimp and have meals you can just pop in the oven. Restaurants were just too busy with the summer crowd. Traffic in and out of Orange beach can be a bit of a challenge- you want to arrive before 4 and leave before 9 especially on Saturday. Be aware of any fishing trips you take - make sure to book off shore if you intend to fish in the Ocean. I spent way to much money on a trip to fish on a boat with the family in shore, which was not my intention. Overall a very good time was had by all the family. I highly recommend the Phoenix condos.

Nice but needs updating

The condo was clean and everything (ac, appliances, etc.) worked. The dishwasher took a long time to complete the cycles. The furnishings were ok but not luxurious - most everything looked out of date like the furniture and countertops. The television in the living area was very large and worked well. The unit is on the 3rd floor, so if the elevators are busy it is easy to take the stairs to the lobby. High rise condos have two problems in my view: sometimes, especially around checkin time, there are long waits to take your baggage and stuff on an elevator because everyone else is doing the same thing at the same time, and also the beach is crowded since there are so many people from the high rise using the limited space on the beach. Nevertheless, if you want to go to the beach in the area, you don't have many choices other than expensive houses.

Great View - Needs TLC

When we booked this condo there was only 1 review so we were reluctant but booked it anyway. It was a great price and hard to pass up. So lets start with the negatives: the floors were very dirty (we couldn't go barefoot), the unit needs paint, needs updates (fixtures were cheap, kitchen faucet was plastic), dishes were NOT clean (we had to wash everything we needed before we used it), kitchen ceiling work area lights didn't work, tub/shower was in bad shape with holes filled with caulk and missing bar, tile floors were chipped and broken, water filter on fridge was red so that needed replacing, bedroom TV remote batteries were dead, kitchen drawer stops were broken so be careful opening any drawers so they don't fall out, WI-FI quality was so-so. The pool for Phoenix II was NOT heated during our stay. So we walked next door to use the heated pool at Phoenix I. Now for the positives: the condo size was perfect for 2 people, the king size bed was really comfortable, nice washer & dryer which we used, dishwasher we did not use, coffee maker, blender (didn't use), toaster and crock pot (didn't use), plenty of utensils, glassware, pots/pans and silverware. Refrigerator has ice maker built in. Unit included DISH TV and Sirius radio channels. The patio with table/chairs was amazing and we ate all our meals out there. The view is spectacular. Grills are available by the pool and we used them while we stayed. The unit is close to the elevators. Luggage carts are available and shopping carts for easy of getting groceries from your car to the condo. It was nice and quiet when we were there. Easy access to the beach with an unbeatable view from the third floor. We had a fabulous vacation and enjoyed our stay. It's the little things that make an experience one that you want to repeat. We will be returning to Orange Beach, just not staying at this unit. Sincerely, The Osborne's
