Photos and Description of this Bartlett holiday cabin

2 bedrooms, 1 bath, sleeps 6 w/pull out sofa. ** Primary Renter Minimum Age: 25

We would love to have you visit our secluded riverfront home in the heart of Mount Washington Valley. “Lost on the River” is a slice of heaven on the east branch of the Saco River. Situated on the end of a private road less than 10 minutes to North Conway, this is a wonderful “out of the way location, close to everything” in the middle of all the White Mountains have to offer – hiking, golf, Storyland, outlet shopping, skiing, snowmobiling, fly fishing or taking a refreshing dip in the river in front our house. This area is also home to some of the best motorcycle riding in all of New England.

Our cabin is perfect for couples and small families who enjoy the tranquility of a remote riverfront location yet appreciate the amenities of a fully functional house. It is clean and comfortable with many ‘little extras” – fireplace, full kitchen, washer/dryer, HDTV, DVD, wireless broadband, free telephone, stereo, gas grill, as well as a riverfront fire pit.

Your dog is welcome with prior approval and an additional $15/night pet fee.

Summer and Fall: Start off your day with breakfast on the front porch overlooking the riverfront, pack a lunch and hike around nearby Mountain pond, come back and relax by the fire pit on the river, and then fall to sleep with the sound of the river outside your bedroom window…..

About Brenda Stein and Damon Burchill

We live on Cape Cod and met about 10 years ago. We were married at this property in 2010. In 2011 we became custodial grandparents to 2 beautiful girls (7 & 12), and now do not have the opportunity to visit as often as we used to..... So we have decided to share our property with others who will appreciate the very special location.

Brenda Stein and Damon Burchill purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Brenda Stein and Damon Burchill chose White Mountains

We knew we wanted to buy in the North Conway area, and had been looking at a lot of 'cookie cutter' houses.... Our 1st priority was location - even if we had to build. When the realtor drove us up to this house, we both knew the second we stepped out of the car we had found what we were looking for!! And the fact that we had a fully functioning house was a dream come true!!! We are sure that you will feel the same!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Brenda,

I just wanted to thank you again for allowing us to rent your home for the past week. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there … spending the days hiking, and evenings by the stove. It was a wonderful week, and your cabin was just perfect … just what we were looking for. The location is perfect …hopefully we can visit again during the summer when we could take advantage of the river and front porch! Thanks again, as your cabin has so much personality and character and warmth … that it isn’t a rental, but it’s a home!

Outstanding Cabin

  • 5 of 5

I've been traveling to the White Mountains of New Hampshire for many years. This is by far the nicest place to stay. Quiet, comfortable, secluded, and exactly as advertised. But still close to all the White Mountain activities if you wish to partake in those. The cabin is beautiful, and makes you feel right at home. I've stayed here a few times and will continue to return.

The owner, Brenda, is also a joy to work with. She is very pleasant and thoughtful, ensuring your stay is just as you would expect. For future trips to the White Mountains the "Lost on the River" cabin will be my only place to stay. It is a fabulous home that anyone would enjoy staying in.

A lovely cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous experience at "Lost on the River"! The cabin was spotlessly clean, beautifully arranged, and welcoming when we arrived, and we found helpful notes and a binder of useful, handy information about things to do in the area. The setting was gorgeous: private, end-of-the-road, right on the river. The owners were very generous to allow us to use wood to have fires in the firepit by the river, and we appreciated the "Oops Basket," though on this trip we managed to remember to bring everything and didn't need to avail ourselves of the basket. We enjoyed cooking on the grill and eating on the very homey porch. The bed was comfortable, and with its being on the west side of the cabin, we had blessed darkness in the morning for sleeping late. We so appreciated being able to bring our dog Jake, and he had a great time exploring the local trails and hikes with us. We highly recommend "Lost on the River" as a cozy, comfortable, warm and welcoming getaway, with a great location so near excellent dining-out spots (including Tuckerman's Tavern and Inn at Thorn Hill) and hiking spots (our favorites were North Moat, Kearsarge, and Mt. Willard)! Laurie and Scott, Harvard MA

"Lost on the River" is the perfect retreat, we enjoyed every minute. We cannot wait to book or next stay. My only complaint is that I didn't stay longer!

Bonding with the nature

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the "Lost on the river" property last weekend. We had an absolutely wonderful experience in there, a memorable one that would be hard to forget. The house is cozy and comfortable and has all the necessary amenities. There is a river (Saco river) that flows right infront of the house and you can spend hours just hearing the sound of the river. It is so beautiful. We went to the Conway Scenic railroad one day and spend rest of the afternoon in-front of the fire. The next day we went up to the Crawford Notch State Park. Brenda and Damon and wonderful people and always had been very responsive to our messages.

We would definitely love to come back again next year. Loved it!

Thank you.

Once again, Lost On The River was a perfect getaway. We had a wonderful time spending the days in Conway, and the nights by the fire. A perfect getaway!

Peaceful cabin on the Saco River

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin over the July 4th weekend for our 5th wedding anniversary. It was such a wonderful place. We felt so comfortable in this home. The kitchen had everything you needed and sitting at the breakfast table with family was so fun. We used the fire pit to make s'mores and hang out at night. The outdoors is very private, which was great for my dog. She loved running around and going in the river! The rocks going down to the river are a bit tricky, but wearing some good shoes will help you traverse the path down. We had no problem, but my parents are a bit older but they did it! We sat at the small little beach on the river shore and had so much fun for the day. The river was so warm that we literally sat in the river and just hung out. We can't wait to come back next year!!
