Overview

About the property

2 bedrooms, 1 bath, sleeps 6 w/pull out sofa. ** Primary Renter Minimum Age: 25

We would love to have you visit our secluded riverfront home in the heart of Mount Washington Valley. “Lost on the River” is a slice of heaven on the east branch of the Saco River. Situated on the end of a private road less than 10 minutes to North Conway, this is a wonderful “out of the way location, close to everything” in the middle of all the White Mountains have to offer – hiking, golf, Storyland, outlet shopping, skiing, snowmobiling, fly fishing or taking a refreshing dip in the river in front our house. This area is also home to some of the best motorcycle riding in all of New England.

Our cabin is perfect for couples and small families who enjoy the tranquility of a remote riverfront location yet appreciate the amenities of a fully functional house. It is clean and comfortable with many ‘little extras” – fireplace, full kitchen, washer/dryer, HDTV, DVD, wireless broadband, free telephone, stereo, gas grill, as well as a riverfront fire pit.

Your dog is welcome with prior approval and an additional $15/night pet fee.

Summer and Fall: Start off your day with breakfast on the front porch overlooking the riverfront, pack a lunch and hike around nearby Mountain pond, come back and relax by the fire pit on the river, and then fall to sleep with the sound of the river outside your bedroom window…..

About Brenda Stein and Damon Burchill

We live on Cape Cod and met about 10 years ago. We were married at this property in 2010. In 2011 we became custodial grandparents to 2 beautiful girls (7 & 12), and now do not have the opportunity to visit as often as we used to..... So we have decided to share our property with others who will appreciate the very special location.

Brenda Stein and Damon Burchill purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Brenda Stein and Damon Burchill chose White Mountains

We knew we wanted to buy in the North Conway area, and had been looking at a lot of 'cookie cutter' houses.... Our 1st priority was location - even if we had to build. When the realtor drove us up to this house, we both knew the second we stepped out of the car we had found what we were looking for!! And the fact that we had a fully functioning house was a dream come true!!! We are sure that you will feel the same!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Brenda,

I just wanted to thank you again for allowing us to rent your home for the past week. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there … spending the days hiking, and evenings by the stove. It was a wonderful week, and your cabin was just perfect … just what we were looking for. The location is perfect …hopefully we can visit again during the summer when we could take advantage of the river and front porch! Thanks again, as your cabin has so much personality and character and warmth … that it isn’t a rental, but it’s a home!

peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

Lost on the River was a perfect spot for our weekend getaway. We went to a couple great places in the area like Sunrise Shake for breakfast, May Kelly's for lunch and hiking at Crawford State Park and each time I was out and about I couldn't wait to get back to Lost on the River and sit by the fire. Thank you for sharing your home.

THE BEST GETAWAY, EVER!!!

  • 5 of 5

The property was perfectly setup, super clean, and the best location-away from the city. There was so much to do right there on the property. Swim in the river, BBQ, amd cook a nice home cooked meal. We also watched movies and kicked back to relac a bit. Great scenic views!!! The homeowners were great as well, they respond very quick when communicating. Thank you so much, we will be planning our next trip -before we even get back home.

Winter Solitude

  • 5 of 5

Our intentions were to do some early spring fly fishing in the Saco River, however, the chill in the air and impressive amounts of snow were perfect for snow shoeing. The camp is at the end of a private road...very secluded but only a short drive to stores and restaurants.

Very clean and cozy, comfy mattress, well stocked kitchen and dependable Wi-Fi were great.

The owners responded immediately when we told them that the drive-way was icy...the caretakers live down the street so they were there with sand. We had a great time; truly a gem in the woods.

Cozy

  • 5 of 5

The property was just what we were looking to get away to - secluded but near town with comfortable accommodations and a quirky fireplace. We relaxed on the couch by the fire every night. Had basically everything we could've wanted for.

Beautiful spot for a relaxing weekend

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic little cottage on the river. Very cozy on cold nights with the wood fire going! Had a great relaxing weekend away here with my wife and dog. Very close to some beautiful walking trails too in the white mountains. Will hopefully be back one day!
