Beautiful villa residence both private and convenient.

Four bedrooms, two on each floor, and living spaces both upstairs and down in the main house, a detached studio and garden patio makes Tiki House a great spot for families and couples who want time together but also require a quiet retreat. Great room has living area, dining table, island/bar with extra seating and a fully equipped kitchen. Laundry room with full sized water and dryer. Cable TV on both the flat screen TVs in the living area and the newly renovated studio. High speed wireless internet throughout the property. Toll free Vonage phone for calls to the US and Canada and Cayman cell phone for on island calls.

Only steps away to the famous Seven Mile Beach with soft white sand and calm blue Carribean water. Glorious days fade into beautiful sunsets. Easy stroll to popular local restaurants, Al Fresco and Heritage Kitchen as well as a full service grocery store and pharmacy.

Short ride to Georgetown and Camana Bay for shopping and restaurants. World class diving from dive sites around the island. Historical sites, such as the Cayman National Museum and Pedro St. James or the Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Gardens create interesting day trips off the beach.

About Rob White

I am an avid runner and scuba diver, and love every opportunity to indulge in both pursuits while on island.

Rob White purchased this villa in 2003

Why Rob White chose Cayman Islands

My wife and I purchased Tiki House both for its superb location by the quiet end of Seven Mile Beach, and the uniqueness of the property. We were enchanted by its setting behind the coral wall, and the privacy of having our own detached home.

What makes this villa unique

The ocean views, the bougainvillea shaded garden, and the floor plan which permits folks to enjoy each others company in the great room, but also enjoy the privacy of two separate floors of living space, each with its own living room, bath and bedrooms. The studio has been renovated in 2015 and allows extra living space for dining, games, and parties.

Amazing Experience

  • 5 of 5

Tiki House was a a fabulous venue for our family to enjoy each other and the Camanian island life! We were a three-generation family of 8. Grandparents, parents and 2 adult children with spouses. The layout and the location of the Tiki House were first-rate. With four bedrooms, a family room, 2 full baths, outdoor patio/gathering area and a game room, we were all commenting on how much we enjoyed the Tiki House over a resort or condo. Breakfasts, cocktails and games and lots of laughs out on the patio were a daily occurrence. Morning and evening walks along the beach to watch the sun rise and set. Had everything we needed to enjoy a week in paradise!

There were no surprises, as Rob was amazing at letting us know what to expect, where to go for necessities, restaurants, etc. Mark, the property manager was terrific once we got there, as well. Quiet, relaxing home to create life-long memories!

We did rent a couple of cars, but with the location of the Tiki House, we walked a majority of time to the beach, to eat out and shop at the grocery store. Great location! If you are looking to be immersed in the local way of life and away from the "touristy" feel, this is your rental!

Heritage Kitchen was our favorite eat out. Chicken! Chicken! great take out for a meal and cheap. West Bay Diner also a walk-to eatery.

Snorkeling just off the beach was a daily event.

Idyllic retreat - the perfect vacation

  • 5 of 5

Tiki house was beautiful and in an amazing location - so close to the most picturesque, white sandy beach. It was truly breathtaking. The owner was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and really helped us make the most of our vacation. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Stunning and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

our most recent visit was our second time staying at Tiki House and we cannot wait to come back for a third!

the home is in great condition, and it works out perfectly for us.. there are two floors, so each couple had their own living area and private bath.

we like to cook, the kitchen is large and fully equiped.

Mark, the Manager, is wonderful and charming and answered our questions promptly.

we love the location . the beach is beautiful and uncrowded,, and the snorkling is fantastic!

there is a grocery store close by as well as some neat places to eat.

Tiki House feels more like home every time we visit

R-A-T-S! Literally rats.

  • 1 of 5

We booked a 10 day stay at the Tiki House but ended departing for another rental after 5 days but more on that later. The Tiki House is a tolerable rental. The location provides good access to seven mile beach [although you do need to drive everywhere as the beach across the street is less than appealing], the house itself is a decent size, with a good layout and comes with a well-stocked kitchen. But do not be fooled. The house is worn. The house is musty. When we arrived one of the beds was broken [the owner did nothing to address when informed], the chairs in the courtyard are torn and rusted, and the upstairs floor is nothing more than a cheap laminate that has soft spots. The house was well stocked with towels but did not have beach chairs or a cooler as advertised. While the house is proximate to SMB it is located a a bend on a fairly busy road [keep in mind we were there in the slow season] meaning you will hear traffic at most hours and have to deal with a difficult driveway entry / exit. The house is not what we envisioned when we booked, however, we would have stayed through our reservation given the money we spent however we were forced to leave due to an infestation of rats. Rats were present at the outset of our trip but by the middle of our stay were running through courtyard, overhead trullece, and on the roof of the buildings making it impossible to use the outside living area. We were lucky to find an inexpensive rental on the water that was beautifully appointed saving our vacation. Rob, the owner of the Tiki House refused to refund any of the money for the unused days.

Owner's Response: The most telling comment in this review is that they found lower priced accommodations. Their actions lead me to believe that they found these accommodations on-line before their arrival to Tiki House and were looking for any reason to get out of their obligation to us. Any reason is certainly what they came up with. In reference to their major theme, rats, when they called us about this "infestation," our property manager met with the professional pest control company at the property immediately. Pest control found no evidence of rats either inside the home or on the grounds. They set traps and monitored them daily for the week; not a single rodent was discovered. Further example, illustrating their motive to break their reservation, is borne out by the constant flood of phone calls and e-mails sent literally from the moment of their arrival with complaints. We explained that, as much as it would be our preference, we have never provided or ever stated in our listing perishable items including coolers, beach chairs, etc. Each contact ended with direct statements that if we gave them their money back they would not file a bad review. .Tiki House is officially licensed as a guest house by the Government of the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. As such we are subject to rigorous inspection by the fire marshall, the building codes compliance official, and the department of tourism inspector. Ironically, these annual inspections were completed during the week just prior to the arrival of these guests. Tiki House, as usual, passed with flying colors. Issues such as broken beds, rusted chairs, mildew smell, and soft wood floors are all issues that these inspectors would have noted and required that we address in order to be licensed. History is the best context. Tiki House is rented over 30 times a year. None of these items were brought to our attention by any of our prior guests. Our previous guest departed Tiki House just a few days before the complainant's arrival. Nothing out of the ordinary was reported. Tiki House is rented over 30 times a year. In fact, a search of our reviews on the site shows nothing but five stars and positive comments. We are proud of our Cayman home and congratulate our outstanding management team for delivering a consistently terrific guest experience. I will only respond directly to the mendacious comments of the of this reviewer by wishing them best of luck in their future travels elsewhere.

Tiki House Dive Trip

  • 5 of 5

Robert was great to work with in getting the house reserved and making sure we had no issues finding or accessing the property. It was perfectly located for our diving trips we did with DiveTech around West Bay. It was close enough to get to 7 Mile Beach/Georgetown when we wanted to and there are plenty of restaurants within 5 min of the house to satisfy all. Great trip and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay.

terrific place to enjoy the island

  • 5 of 5

Our experience with Tiki House was perfect from the very beginning. Robert, the owner, was almost immediately responsive, from the initial request through to the couple of questions we had prior to departure. Tiki House is clean, comfortable, and well appointed for every family comfort. The beds are comfortable and there was plenty of room to unload suitcases and hang clothing in the closets. The kitchen is well stocked and user-friendly. Over the course of a week we made most of our meals in Tiki House and lacked for nothing. The appliances are new. We made use of the local, large grocery store that is a very short drive or an easy walk away. The washing machine and dryer completed the list of conveniences. Tiki House is less than a two minute walk from the beautiful Caribbean, with lovely rolling waves, a clean beach, and a reef that was perfect for new snorkelers. There is a lovely restaurant on the beach where you can enjoy a nice dinner outside. The location of Tiki House is ideal if you don't want to be in the middle of the most touristy parts of the island. Renting a car allowed us to explore the island, enjoy the parts we wanted to experience, and feel like we were coming "home" to our lovely patio under the bougainvillea at the end of the day. We highly recommend Robert and Tiki House and would definitely stay there again if we have the opportunity.

Tiki House is located at the west end of famous Seven Mile Beach across the street from the beautiful palm shaded public beach's white coral sand and calm blue water. One of the island's most popular snorkeling sites, Cemetery Reef, is just a short walk away. The reefs surrounding Grand Cayman are known worldwide for their excellent dive sites. Or take a boat ride to the sandbar of Stingray City and interact with magnificent Southern Rays. If horticulture is your special interest, visit the Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Gardens for exotic plants and the Blue Iguana Habitat. Stop at the Lighthouse Restaurant for great Italian food and a magnificent view of the southern end of the island. Enjoy the beauty of the quiet end of the world or get out and partake of the many restaurants and bars. Grand Cayman has become a foodie's paradise with the popularity of the annual Food and Wine Festival in January and the many James Beard recognized chefs. The variety of restaurants on island is numerous or stop at the local market for all your favorite foods. (Pick up a locally made Rum Cake for desert!) Get your Jack Sparrow fix during the Pirate's Week Festival in November. Anytime of the year you can literally visit Hell. Take pictures and send back postcards from the Hell Post Office. (Grand Cayman has beautiful stamps for those interested in philately or just admire a pretty picture for their mail) Tiki House is minutes from Downtown Georgetown for great duty free shopping or visit Camana Bay for shopping, new state of the art movie theater, and fine dining. You can always stroll across the street and relax with your toes in the sand, a dip in the sea, and a good book in your hands. Your dream vacation starts here!
