Perfect Extended Family Summer Get Away
This property was great for a family reunion in the beautiful Vermont mountains during the summer. The house is very close to a nice state park with a beach for swimming and boat rentals plus lots of easy access to hiking trails.
The house itself has plenty of room for a large group. The kitchen was well equipped and a grill is available outside as well. The bunk rooms are standard twin (not extra long mattresses), so not ideal for adults but perfect for children. Everything was clean and well stocked for towels and linens.
The owner was very responsive and quick to answer questions when they came up.
The house is a bit dated and some things, like kitchen and bathroom cabinet pulls are not in great shape. I would also be aware for those with young children especially, that the windows in the main living level of the house come down to the floor. While allowing for beautiful views, there are no protective railings and during the summer, with the windows open and only the screens, it was a potential hazard.
The stay at this house was so wonderful. The house was beautiful and clean and accommodated our group of 12 wonderfully. Met Michelle and she was so sweet and gave us great recommendations for places to see in the area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a place with a large group or even just a getaway with friends. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Thanks for the stay!
Cool place. Treacherous road.
House is spacious and accommodates large groups well.
Snowed during our stay and even AWD vehicles struggled on the road down the hill.
Beautiful house with great amenities
The house was absolutely beautiful! There were plenty of rooms and bathrooms for our big group of 14 people. We enjoyed the weekend there and the gorgeous views. The description was accurate and the pictures did not do the house and the view justice. It was more beautiful than I expected. The only tough part was getting up the mountain. Smaller cars did not make it up. The people at the front lodge were very nice and offered to bring some of us up in their vehicle but we did ok with the bigger cars. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who’s looking for a beautiful property!
There was an unusual combination of rain and above normal temperatures that caused the road bed to become soft and made it difficult for small cars to drive over the ruts. Everybody pitches in to help whenever something out of the ordinary happens.
Located in Plymouth, VT in the 1200 acre Hawk Resort. Ten minutes from the town of Ludlow, 8 minutes from the Jackson Gore base area of Okemo Mountain, a top rated family ski area, and 15 minutes from the Killington Skyeship. Enjoy year round activities including hiking, biking, water activities at the nearby lakes, golf, tennis, and fall foliage. In addition, take advantage of the many amenities of the Hawk Resort including indoor/outdoor pools, cross country and snowshoe trails, and restaurant (weekends during ski season only)
There are several good restaurants in the area. For a more upscale experience you might want to try Harry's, near the intersection of rt. 100 and rt. 103, or the the Coleman Brook Tavern at Jackson Gore. In the town of Ludlow, DJs has a great burger and dinner specials, Tom's Loft near the entrance to the Okemo clock tower base area has good BBQ, wings, and burgers, and Sam's Steak House has a good salad bar, dinner specials, and comfort foods. There is also an Irish pub, Killarney's in Ludlow. Our favorite pizza in Ludlow is American Pie, located across from the Shaw's supermarket; Village Pizza is also good. Going in the other direction, toward Killington, is the Back Behind Restaurant at the intersection of rt. 100 and rt. 4. They have a reasonably priced bar menu, good BBQ, and a nice dinner menu. The Long Trail Brewery is at the intersection of rt. 100a and rt. 4 in Bridgewater Corners (they close early - 7:00 p.m.). There are also great deli sandwiches in Bridgewater Corners at the Bridgewater Country Store; Singleton's Store in Cavendish also has a good variety of sandwiches, snacks, and grocery items.
