About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Full Bathrooms, sleeps 5

The condo is located in a prime location in New Orleans Historical French Quarter. Just a few blocks from Bourbon

Street. The location is perfect! As you can see in the pictures the 1350 sqft two bedroom, two full bath condo has just recently been renovated and furnshed. Everything in the building and unit is highend. You will not be dissapointed by the accommodation or the location. You are within walking distance of everything New Orleans has to offer. You are even in walking distance of The Mercedes Benz Super Dome. If you want to experience New Orleans the way it should be this is the location for you...

The most common definition of the French Quarter includes all the land stretching along the Mississippi River from Canal Street to Esplanade Avenue (12 blocks) and inland to North Rampart Street (seven to nine blocks). It equals an area of 78 sq. blocks. Some definitions, such as city zoning laws, exclude the properties facing Canal Street, which had already been redeveloped by the time architectural preservation was considered, and the section between Decatur Street and the river, much of which had long served industrial and warehousing functions. Any alteration to structures in the remaining blocks is subject to review by the Vieux Carré Commission, which determines whether the proposal is appropriate for the historic character of the district. Its boundaries as defined by the City Planning Commission are: Esplanade Avenue to the north, the Mississippi River to the east, Canal Street, Decatur Street and Iberville Street to the south and the Basin Street, St. Louis Street and North Rampart Street to the west.[4] Bourbon Street is a famous and historic street that spans the length of the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. When founded in 1718, the city was originally centered around the French Quarter.[1] New Orleans has since expanded, but 'The Quarter' remains the cultural hub, and Bourbon Street is the street best known by visitors.

The most popular section of Bourbon Street is 'Upper Bourbon Street', an eight-block section of popular tourist attractions. Bourbon Street begins at Canal Street (across Canal is Carondelet Street in the New Orleans Central Business District). The straight street continues downriver, southwest to northeast a few blocks from and roughly paralleling the Mississippi River, and comes to its terminus at Pauger Street in the Faubourg Marigny. (In the 19th century, Pauger was named as a continuation of Bourbon Street.) Bourbon Street was named in honor of the House of Bourbon, the ruling French Royal Family, at the time of the city's founding.

From Dumaine Street to Pauger, Bourbon Street is largely residential with scattered businesses still catering to locals. Also on this stretch of Bourbon exists (Jean) Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, which is a very popular bar, showing the style of the original French buildings (before the Spanish iron balconies) which burned in the first Great New Orleans Fire (1788).

Though largely quiet during the day, Bourbon Street comes alive at night, particularly during the French Quarter's many festivals. Most popular among these is the annual Mardi Gras celebration, when Bourbon Street teems with hundreds of thousands of tourists. Local open container laws in the French Quarter allow drinking alcoholic beverages in the street in plastic containers (drinking from glass or cans is prohibited). The streets are packed with tourists drinking Hurricanes, Hand Grenades and Huge Ass Beers - a large plastic cup of draft beer marketed to tourists at a low price. Other festivals and events focusing on Bourbon Street include French Quarter Festival and Southern Decadence.

One of the oldest and most popular restaurants on Bourbon Street is Galatoire's, which was founded in 1905 by Jean Galatoire. Known for years by its characteristic line snaking down Bourbon Street, patrons would wait for hours just to get a table — especially on Fridays.

Great spot in the French Quarter

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here. The condo has plenty of space for 4 people. The furniture and beds are comfortable. There are some yummy restaurants with in a 1 block radius, and bourbon street is only a short walk away.

This is a great choice if you really want to explore and experience the French Quarter.

The back ally can be loud on a weekend night and you can hear the train go past too, so if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Noise is just part of staying in the French Quarter. Just prepare for that.

The owners are very responsive to questions and followed up with us when we checked in. Overall it's a great spot. I would stay here again.

Beautiful apartment right in the middle of everything!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here. Sure, it can be noisy. If you can get past that... you won't beat this location. Master bedroom is beautiful with a super comfortable king bed! Kitchen and appliances all seem new and functional. Huge tvs in all the rooms. Overall a wonderful stay!

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was perfect for two couples. We each had our own bedrooms with attached baths and a great living area to enjoy each other‘s company . Both bedrooms have king-size bed. Our bed was very comfortable. The location is also awesome we walked everywhere.

Clemson Tiger's Review

The condo was modern, was well equipped, had comfortable beds, had good and big TVs in both bedrooms and in the living room, and is in a good location in the French Quarter. I would stay there again. No noise was not heard from the House of Blues, but there was some street noise. Would recommend arranging parking at New Orleans parking lots prior to arrival.

Great location! Comfy and cozy. Perfect for 2 couples.

Overall well maintained. Needs a few cosmetic updates- shower curtain is disgusting. Found a questionable stain on the sheets. No hot water in master shower and 2nd shower valve was tricky. Wouldn’t stop me from staying again though.

Handy Man Needed! Very Noisy! Sketchy ALERT!

  • 1 of 5

Upon arrival 6 of the 9 can lights in common area of kitchen and living room with 10 foot cellings were OUT with no lamps making it difficult at night to read/play games. Handle to dryer door brokon OFF unable to open. Hole in Master bath where tolit paper holder use to be. Handle to tolit broken had to LIFT LID to flush. Faucet in kitchen BROKEN had to be taken off to get water to wash dishes or use for cooking. furniture legs BROKEN off bar stools. Had to use towels as blanket at night NO blankets only a thin coverlet and sheets for bed. Only 4 pillow cases for the entire house which were the ones on the bed (2 each) only 1 wash cloth for entire home. No tea towel or sponge to wash dishes with. Items listed under "Amenities" when booking this VRBO were not stocked as in ~ garbage bags, laundry soap, basic soap, shampoo, dish soap, bottled water, water cooler, paper towels and iron. Upon arrival I called and emailed the Owner (with a response 3 days later) and was told they are "NOT" included in the stay "NOR" should they be "expected" and if items are in the home, the owner expects these items to be replaced upon leaving. On a lighter note Master bedroom faces a back street (alley) where resturant workers sit out on milk crates smoking, talking loud and yelling till wee hours of the morning the TRAIN goes by at 4:15 A.M with its whistle each day. Rubbish is picked up at 3:00 A.M each day with beeping back up lights. And one morning at 1:00 A.M I peeked out the window to see a handful of money and a small package being passed. Before arrival I was the one who initated phone calls and emails to owner requesting code for entrance and was not given any codes until the day before arrival. VRBO Property ID #975667 when typed into "search" shows a home in South Carolina. The site is taken down during the day and then comes back up on some nights and when I called the owner about this as the property after booking shows above ~ a home in South Carolina he said that is what his wife does, Advertising the Condo then takes it down from the VRBO site....I ask myself WHY? as this seems odd for a Holiday Rental. If your standerds are LOW then this is the PERFECT home for you!
