Fernie house with a view

Great location near the Elk river with views of the Three Sisters and Mt Fernie. Comfortable home but lots of stairs!

Great property!

Comfortable, unique, artistic, mountain home! Would highly recommend. If you are sensitive to light when sleeping be sure to bring a sleep mask, lots of beautiful windows.

Relaxing and Close to Everything!

Very much enjoyed a 5-day getaway to Jake's beautiful home in the nearby Annex neighborhood of Fernie. The home has everything we needed plus that rooftop deck with the incredible views! A 10-minute walk to 2nd Avenue and all the dining and entertainment options in Fernie made it very convenient. Thank you!

We lived in Fernie for 5 years before moving to Whitefish, Mt to start a landscaping buiness. We sold that business a few years ago after 15 years of operating. We have wanted to get back to Fernie so we decided to build a home with the goal of moving back full time.
We love to be in the on skis in bounds or backcountry, on a bike, hiking, trail running or fishing.
At the moment we have been working on a new business development in Whitefish, Mt so our home in Fernie has been open for rentals.

Why they chose this property

We built this home the summer of 2015. We were able to have a contractor erect to close up and then we took over constuction. Hiring out drywall of course!
We wanted a energy efficient home that could showcase new building techniques. We chose Cross Laminiated Timbers. They may not be entirely new in Europe but has just become more of an option in North America. Yes the walls are 4" of solid wood that is structural. There is no thermal bridging as the insulation fulling encapsulates the interior structual CLT walls and ceiling. We have more photos and explaination at the home!

What makes this property unique

The solid walls create a quiet interior, allow for large windows and create a warm feeling with the wood grains. We hope you can come and experience this home. We want to encourage more people to look at building with energy efficiency in mind.
