About this property

Modern Casita in Historic Downtown Albuquerque

Thanks for looking at our Mid-Century Modern, light-filled guesthouse nestled in a quiet neighborhood in downtown Albuquerque. Although we are new to VRBO/HomeAway, we've been renting this space for over two years on another platform and get great reviews. Our new-construction casita offers easy access to downtown restaurants, cafes, and nightlife and only a few blocks from the zoo, green spaces and the Rio Grande river trail. Albuquerque's Old Town and its beautiful museums are within a short distance by bicycle or car. When you're not out exploring, relax in the secure and private courtyard. This rental is perfect for couples, retirees, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

"If all vacation rental properties were this lovely and well-appointed, hotels would go out of business.”

“This is a luxury space - art-filled, immaculately maintained.”

THE SPACE - This light-filled and cheerful casita has easy access to a private courtyard and reserved parking area, all on one level. Adjoining our home, this quiet and welcoming space is designed with your privacy in mind. Your private casita has a full kitchen and dining area that can double as a working space, a sitting area with Roku, cable television and a DVD player and a variety of DVDs, and a private courtyard with seating and water-feature. At the end of the day (or the beginning) enjoy a hot shower or a long luxurious soak in the steeping tub. Turn in at night in the expansive, medium-firm king-sized bed. This property has a very energy efficient HERS rating of 50. The whisper-quiet split unit ensures you’ll be cozy and comfy on the chilliest of nights while staying cool in the summer.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD - The best of Albuquerque is right outside the door. This mixed-use neighborhood includes single family homes, apartment buildings, bakeries, cafes, pubs and restaurants, parks, and nightlife on historic Route 66/Central Avenue. We love being able to bike or walk to the Bosque River Trail - a Cottonwood forest flanking the Rio Grande River. Within a few blocks: Many parks, river nature trail, Albuquerque Zoo, The Rail Yards market (seasonal), downtown Albuquerque, Route 66 shops, abundant restaurants and coffee shops, Silver Street Market, and the downtown Grower's Market (Saturday's mid-April – October).

Old Town, Tiguex Park, and museums are a short drive or bike ride away.

GETTING AROUND - The Rail Runner train and Greyhound bus station are seven blocks away. Local buses run regularly. Convenient bike rentals are available throughout the city. Lyft and Uber are also options.

The perfect place!
Our first Home Away try and it was beyond our expectations! It was very clean and private. The location was great, felt safe. We enjoyed and appreciated the amenities offered. This is a must-stay-at place!

The property was great and the Daniels were fantastic!
The Daniels were very good hosts and tried to help out in a very difficult situation. On our second day there in Albuquerque my husband had a heart attack and was hospitalized. He’s OK and the Daniels did try to accommodate us in our need to extend our stay but were unable to facilitate an extension of our rental agreement. It wasn’t their fault and they tried their best to help us out. The Casita Amarilla was just as it was represented on VRBO. Very cute and clean and well appointed. The only thing that we were not 100% pleased with was the fact that there was no bar of bath soap My husband had to take a shower the first night using the liquid hand wash from the lavatory. But that was our only complaint. And the bed was very comfortable!

Hi there! I'm a graphic designer helping small businesses throughout the United States with branding and marketing. When I'm not on the job I enjoy the culinary arts, time with friends, and hiking and exploring the surrounding mountains and desert regions. I love the southwest United States and am happy to call Albuquerque home.

My husband Ed and I really enjoy hosting guests; our experiences have been delightful. We love meeting people from all over the world and sharing our hospitality.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the natural sunlight and clean design of this home the first time we walked into it. It is new construction completed in the summer of 2016. The location offers easy access to the Rio Grande river which is a favorite of ours for biking and walking. We also enjoy walking to neighborhood restaurants, pubs, and the local markets. The casita rental is attached to the main house (soundproof wall), but guests access this portion of the property through a separate and private entrance.

What makes this property unique

We take hosting seriously and go the extra mile to ensure you're welcomed to an extremely clean and well-appointed space. Your comfort and satisfaction are very important to us!
