I am English and I came skiing and married a mountain guide
and ski instructor. We built the chalet in 1963. He died many years ago and I stayed in this lovely valley.
Teresa Staeger purchased this apartment in 1963
It is ideally situated in the middle of the village but off the street in its own garden.

This is the perfect place to stay in Lauterbrunnen. You are an easy short walk to the train station, restaurants, a bakery (that sells sandwiches for hikers), the COOP and shopping. We could lay in bed and see Staubbach Falls from our pillow. The view from the deck was more than fabulous. The hostess, Teresa, loaded us up with all kinds of freebies for our visit (butter, jelly, chocolate, coffee, tea, soaps, ....) . There is a small refridgerator in each unit. So we had cereal and milk for breakfast, and a glass of wine for a late night treat on the deck. And if the fantastic view of the Lauterbrunnen valley wasn't enough, Teresa has a fabulous rose garden, and beautiful landscaping around her property. We will definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to have another trip to Lauterbrunnen.
This is a great place to stay in the heart of the Alps! Teresa Staeger is a wonderful hostess and will make sure your stay is pleasant. My husband and I rented Lauberhorn for 2 weeks. The location is perfect for hiking in the most beautiful alpine mountains imaginable as well as visiting many fine old cities. It is close to the train station, bus, cable car, and the town center yet it's a quiet location. The view of Staubbach Falls and the surrounding Alps from the apartment deck can't be beat. I would not hesitate to stay there again and highly recommend this lovely holiday rental. Thank you, Teresa!
What could possibly enhance a visit to Lauterbrunnen, one of the most beautiful areas we have been? Staying at Teresa Staeger’s Chalet Horner. Situated within walking distance of everything you could possibly need, yet just far enough away from the main road and its traffic noise.
My wife and I stayed in the Jungfrau Apartment for two weeks. It provided everything we needed, exceptionally clean, and at a very reasonable price. Having a small kitchen area within our apartment afforded us an opportunity to eat many meals in, thus saving significant money. The homey atmosphere created by Teresa fit perfectly with our desire to experience and embrace the local culture. Armed with a half-fare rail pass, this perfectly situated “home base” allowed us to take several rail and lift excursions, which further helped us to connect with such a wonderful country.
We highly recommend Chalet Horner and look forward to our next visit with great anticipation. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you Teresa.
We stayed in the smallest app. It is compact for 2 people and has everything you need for a short stay. Yes the furnishings are a bit dated but everything is clean and comfortable. The view from this studio is amazing . Given the view from the balcony and the excellent location we found this rental to be excellent value .The owner responded quickly to all emails and check in and check out were very easy. We were there on August 1st and had a excellent view of the fireworks for the national holiday from the balcony. The only criticism
We have is that we found the room to be lacking in a good reading light but this would not stop us returning here in the future .
We stayed in the Jungfrau apartment. Small but well equipped with a lovely view of the falls from the room and balcony. Very central to everything. Good value for Lauterbrunnen. Walk from Murren to Gimmelwald lovely with snow all around but the narrow roadway was clear. Easy walk of 40 minutes going down all the way. Walk down from Wengen 50 minutes but reasonably steep. Cafe Airtime across the road has GREAT food and wonderful soups you can takeaway.
We stayed for 3 nights at Jungrau flat and was sad when we had to leave. It was so peaceful and absolutely wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and the room tho smallish was adequate and we were very happy and satisfied with it. The entire place was clean tidy and well maintained.
The location of this flat is the best! Just about 7 minutes walk from the station and the directions Teresa gave us was spot on.
The kitchen was fully equipped and Teresa was so thoughtful and ensured that we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. She left us chocolates, cheese and biscuits and snacks in the room and ample supply of tea coffee and hot chocolate.
And the view from the balcony is one that we'll never ever forget! We can't wait to return.
Thank you Teresa for the best holiday ever!
