Capital Hill VRBO perfect for family reunion
Our family gathered in Washington DC in early June for a family reunion. Ed’s VRBO in Capital Hill neighborhood perfectly suited our family’s needs and exceeded expectations for spaciousness and super cleanliness! All and all we enjoyed our Washington DC stay very much in this comfortable VRBO condominium.
The VRBO condominium is in close proximity to Metro, Bus, and free shuttle to/from Metro stations (large red “Connections” bus), and excellent WMATA ‘metro dc’ iPhone app simplified transportation. Our family found that access to mini-marts and grocery stores were just 15 minute walk near the Eastern Market Metro Station. Eastern Market Deli hosts a fun weekend street fair and vegetable market, as well as several neighborhood restaurants, Trader Joe’s and CVS pharmacy.
This VRBO location is within a ‘neat as a pin’ neighborhood with well-groomed gardens, pedestrian friendly brick sidewalks, and lots of lighted cross-walks. The VRBO website photos accurately portray the condominium’s amenities. The two bedrooms upstairs were even more spacious than expected. We really appreciated the extra folding chairs and baby safety gate conveniently stored in the closet. Fresh towels and linens galore for our family of six.
The VRBO condominium was well appointed with plenty of towels, sheets, cotton blankets for our family group of 6. The full kitchen and washer/dryer were fully stocked with plenty of utensils and dishes, making quiet evening meals easy. When local family members visited, the dining area seats 7. We enjoyed the backyard patio area with table and chairs, complete with owner supplied “Off” spray – just in case there were a few mosquitos. Very thoughtfully stocked and furnished to meet every need for our family. We are already beginning to think about next year. Thank you!
Nice place, great location. Very clean and owners were quick to respond to questions.
Only 15 minute walk to Capital, Union station to hop on a tour bus, still lots of walking once you're off the bus. House was great, kitchen has lots of room and bright space to cook and relax after long day of sightseeing. We will stay here again, maybe bring our grandkids next time.
A Very Convenient and Charming Place
I was very pleased with this rental. My family and I were in DC for our sons graduation from college. This was in a good location near Eastern Market, and the home was very comfortable.
Good place, but different from listing.
Ed proved to be a reasonable host by giving us a rebate when we found the property to be significantly different from what was listed. First, while the BUILDING is technically a “town-home”, it is divided into two apartments with a common entry door. The unit described here is only one of them. Second, there is only one parking space, and he awards it to either one tenant or the other, on a first come first serve basis, so you may not get it unless you specifically reserve it IMMEDIATELY upon booking the apartment. Third, the patio shown in the pictures is shared with all tenants, and may or may not be available. Fourth, guests are prohibited from using the AC because it’s shared. Other than that, clean, as described. 3 stars.
Perfect spot to enjoy DC!
Excellent location, not far from everything. Rented a bike and rode all over the capitol.
