Beautiful lakefront home in the Lake Champlain Islands available for rent. This house is spacious, with a large open kitchen that leads into a great room, which is equipped with a built-in bar. The openness of this house provides everyone in your group a space of their own while still providing a feeling of unity for family and friends. Beautiful views of Lake Champlain are visible from the back porches. There is a shale stone beach just across the street for your enjoyment which also has excellent bass fishing. This is the perfect rental for your vacation!
Upon entering this rental it became obvious that the owners had
comfort and convenience in mind when doing the renovations. It was
also obvious that they genuinely cared about making their property
feel like a home away from home. This show of respect towards
prospective tenants was matched by the personal service that we
received. Our dealings with Nate were nothing short of excellent. He
was always very helpful, and went out of his way to make sure we had a
pleasant stay. All of their efforts were well appreciated by our
We loved the open floor plan, and there was plenty of nice furniture
for all to be comfy. We had up to nine people in our party, and we had
plenty of room. The master bedroom was big enough for our son's family
to camp out in - and they still had room to move around! We also had
plenty of closet/storage space. Having two television areas was nice,
and both had a lot of channels to choose from - to include free
The outside offered a lot of space as well - decks front and back with
ample seating, and a good sized yard. I liked the fact that the grill
was set up on its own side deck. The home has woods on one side, and a
few trees forming a barrier on the other. Privacy was never an issue.
A great place to kick back with family and/or friends.
The location was not as remote as we first thought. The drive through
the islands did not seem to take long, so our excursion to Burlington
proved to be a nice outing. The drives to NY to buy groceries were a
great way to explore the area, and did not feel inconvenient. The Isle
of LaMotte is right across the bridge that is in the picture of the
lake. Across the bridge in the other direction (North Hero) is a food
vendor who has good food at reasonable prices. FYI: next to this
concession is a convenience store where you can purchase fishing
licenses on the spot. You can opt to buy a 1, 3, or 7 day license.
AND, if you plan on having a private charter for a day of fishing, be
sure to tell the Captain your location - I was able to have our group
picked up at our dock!
Although we weren't directly on the water, we left with only two
regrets: We only booked for one week - not two; and we didn't have our

Well I got very similar impressions as previous visitors.
The house is only clean where one can see on pictures, but if you look under the beds, behind the bathroom double sink, on the ceiling fans, in the closets, in the heat ducts, around the windows, etc. Dust , spider webs, dead flies, rot around the wooden window chassis, shows and does answer why the place has an unpleasant smell, that someone is trying to camouflage with potpourri and moth balls.
To me it looked like a 14 year old was hired to do the job as quickly as possible. In general the house needs maintenance as everything use to be very nice and with quality furnishings, no such maintenance and no seasonal cleaning will get any house in that poor shape. Forced air furnace needs to have ducts cleaned, Windows needs cleaning as rot is showing on wooden areas. Perhaps also the odosr in the house are from water getting in the house.
I tough that paying a higher rental would of given a place that is well maintained.
I do not feel at ease to write this review as I have no bad feelings and dont care much to be non constructive, but I learned that I should of read the reviews more carefully before renting. Therefore I am obliged to also write a review and help the next renter to beware or the landlord to perhaps consider maintaining his investment in such a nice house by just doing maintenance.
Lovely cottge with plenty of nooks and crannies for being all together or for quiet time. The cottage lacks nothing with a beach in front of the house for wading( it is quite shallow) to the beautiful beach at the alburgh dunes about a five min. drive. Lots of room for the grand kids to run around. Nice spot for cycling or walking. Not too far from platsburgh and Burlington.

When we entered the camp we were overwhelmed with the smell of rodent feces, and when we warmed the oven it became much worse. The gas stove in the living room was inoperable. The pilot light would not stay lit. Otherwise the camp held up good for a group of 7. The casting stove also worked well. The location worked out great near great fishing.
I chose this beautifully appointed island home to be near the venue where my equally beautiful daughter was getting married and I'm so glad I did. It is equipped from top to bottom with anything and everything you could possibly need (the kitchen is truly a dream kitchen that oozes folkish charm and comfort) and offers a ton of room for family friends and bridal brunches! The bedrooms are beautiful and delightfully inviting and offered all of us a restful night's sleep and welcome privacy. The house is feet away from the lake so the views are breathtaking. My sister enjoyed her morning yoga sessions on the porch and runs around the island. We all want to return for a family vacay and hope to do that soon! Highly recommend this dream home for a much needed respite and recreation!
This home was generally roomy; four us of never felt crowded. The bedrooms, one bathroom and the kitchen--the spaces that were remodeled--felt comfortable & pleasant. The skylights made the whole space feel bright & cheerful.
However, only the visible areas seemed to have been cleaned. If you had the misfortune of dropping a toothbrush behind the vanity it was buried in a cloud of dust. The screens were coated in a season's worth of bugs. The yard had junk surrounding it.
Areas that hadn't been remodeled--like the exterior, the second bathroom, and the porches--just looked seedy. And the showers were extremely narrow; the average adult would feel very confined.
From the photos on the profile, one would get the impression that the higher rental for this house was warranted by the attractive remodeling. The pix don't lie, but they give an incomplete impression.
Can't say enough good things about this home!! The house is even better in person. We had two families of four stay for a week and there was more than enough room for everyone. Just a quick walk to the lake and plenty water toys for all. Paddle boards and kayaks were easily accessible and in great shape. The house had everything we needed from coffee to paper towels. It was clean and had up to date appliances and comfortable bedrooms. The owners were very kind and provided plenty of ways to contact them if need be. Would definitely recommend this home, we look forward to returning in the future!
In front of this rental property, there is bass fishing right from the beach. Westerly views make for beautiful sunsets from your backyard. Alburgh Golf Links is located 0.2 miles away. Alburgh Sand Dunes State Park provides a public beach for swimming (2 miles away). St. Anne's Shrine is an outdoor place of worship which is a 5 minute drive. Montreal Canada is less than an hour and a half away which provides many different attractions from casinos to theme parks. Parc Safari is 45 minutes away, which now features a water park. (Bring your passports) The Lake Champlain Islands are bustling with activities from winery tours in South Hero, to bird watching in the Missisquoi wildlife refuge. The Islands have a picturesque landscape which can be enjoyed by walking, hiking, paddling, or cycling. Burlington is less than a one hour drive where people can enjoy the waterfront, summer festivals, and shop on church street.
