Elkmont provides families and groups traveling together the most space and sleeping capacity of Blackberry Farm’s accommodation options. With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, Elkmont can accommodate up to six adults and eight children. This Tennessee mountain house was professionally designed by Blackberry Farm Design in 2010 to incorporate regional Smoky Mountain décor with beautiful oak hardwood floors, wood and sisal carpets, painted wood walls, stone fireplaces and much more.
The kitchen and dining room:
Perfect for guest chefs or families to make meals together, this full service kitchen has bright corner windows, stainless and custom front appliances, custom built cabinetry and a natural stone countertop. The dining room accommodates up to 8 guests with a casual yet elegant feel. The room features an oval dining table, custom made ladder back chairs, a rustic antique iron chandelier and custom embroidered draperies. A custom wine cabinet features separate built-in cooling units for wine and cold-temperature beverages along with glass storage and a serving platform.
The living room:
With a not-to-miss view, the living room has large custom-made iron windows that were hand forged by a local craftsman. The living room includes a mix of furniture with revitalized antiques, corduroy sofas to recline, and pops of colors through art and accessories that emphasize the southern surroundings. The natural stone fireplace, with a reclaimed timber mantel, anchors one side of the room. The living room also features a world-class Monitor Audio 5.1 surround system and large-screen TV, hidden within a custom-designed cabinet. Guests can enjoy the system using the house’s extensive collection of Blu-ray movies and bluegrass recordings or their own personal mobile music device.
The screened porch:
Overlooking the beautiful Smoky Mountains, this Tennessee mountain home's most coveted space is the screened porch. With the same attention to detail as the rest of the home, the screened porch has an antique dining table and chairs, a stone fireplace, and a television that is hidden behind antique shutters. Relax on this porch in the custom swing bed, hung with hefty ropes and great for napping or reading.
The master suite:
The master suite has a unique iron bed with Tempurpedic mattresses and feather toppers, a gracious walk-in closet, and subtle plaid drapery framing the mountain view. The spacious master bathroom has a double vanity and full wall mirror, natural stone and slab shower, water closet and freestanding pedestal tub. The sofa has a pull out bed for guests traveling with children.
The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms:
Each guest room has been carefully crafted with guests in mind. Tasteful features include soft wool carpets, log and upholstered king beds, touches of leather and iron, and accents from antique kilim rugs and one-of-a-kind pieces of art. In the bathrooms, guests will find Tennessee marble tile and slabs in the showers, iron vanities, and touches of barnwood. The third upstairs bedroom was designed for kids; it includes two twin-size dormer beds, two more roll-out trundle beds, and room to play or watch TV.
The laundry and half bath:
The half bath includes a custom iron and concrete vanity and a fourth shower. This room also includes a hidden, high-end stacked washer and dryer for guest use.

We got what we were expecting and then some. The house not only looks amazing but has a feel about it that makes you just want to sit and breath it all in.
The farm is a unique and exciting place and then there is the food...
The entire experience was flawless.
This was our first trip to this stunning home, but it certainly won't be our last. This luxurious private residence on Blackberry Farm is tucked into the hillside overlooking the extraordinary beauty of Blackberry Farm and is just a quick golf cart ride away from the Wellhouse Spa, where we had the best massages and facials and used the clean and wonderful workout facilities. We went for beautiful hikes and enjoyed a glass of wine on the home's outstanding screened in porch, which featured a large and very comfortable suspended day bed. The rooms are all outfitted with pristine, clean linens and luxurious beds and bathrooms. We were really impressed. Definitely going back to this home and to the amazing Blackberry Farm. We had the finest meal of our lives at the Barn restaurant, and the service staff at Blackberry Farm is unparalleled. A no-brainer. This home is worth every penny.
My stay at Elkmont was wonderful. The house and property are in exceptional condition, very private and beautifully decorated. In particular, the beds are luxuriously appointed and very comfortable. A special feature is the enormous porch swing on the screened in porch. Of course, you get to enjoy the wonderful hospitality of Blackberry Farm too.
What a perfect getaway! Blackberry Farm and Elkmont truly combine the best of the best. The home is ideally located a short walk from all of the considerable amenities Blackberry Farm has to offer. Sitting on a beautifully wooded lot, Elkmont is impeccably decorated, with plush bedding, forest views through floor to ceiling windows, cozy communal areas and a spectacular screened in porch. The luxury accommodations and service combined with the Farm's tranquil setting, legendary food and abundant activities made for the perfect family vacation. We will be back!
My wife and I stayed at Elkmont at Blackberry Farm for a long weekend. We are frequent travelers, and are admittedly a bit jaded when it comes to luxury properties. Often, we find the hype does not match the experience. This was one of the rare cases where the experience trumped the hype.
The house itself is absolutely impeccable. It has a open plan first floor with beautiful furnishings. The jewel of the house is the huge screened-in porch. It has an immense fireplace and an amazing "couch swing" that is long and deep enough to nap on. It's incredible to sit out there and listen to the sounds of nature at night. The bedrooms are all large and well appointed, and the master bath is as luxurious as it is cavernous.
The house sits among the forest, only a 2-minute ride by golf cart to the main house, the well house and the barn at Blackberry. There is an endless array of things to do at Blackberry. We went hiking, horseback riding, trail running, swimming and fishing - all in one day! The Blackberry property is gorgeous, the food is amazing, and the wine list at the Barn has to be seen to believed. Be sure to ask for a tour of the wine cellar when dining at the Barn - you will be amazed at their collection.
If the house and Blackberry Farm are not enough, the property is less than 20 miles from Smoky Mountain National Park. We made the trek up to Cades Cove in the park by bike, and saw deer, hawks, wild boar and even a young bear cub playing in the meadows.
All in all, Elkmont at Blackberry Farm is among the most relaxing and luxurious places my wife and I have ever had the pleasure to visit. We will definitely be going back, and recommend it without reservation.
Our expectations prior to our visit to Blackberry Farm were high - VERY high! Visiting The Farm was on our vacation shortlist for years, so anticipation built for some time, especially after reading countless, effusive articles about it in Town & Country, Vogue and elsewhere. Needless to say, our expectations were blown away!
While Blackberry Farm is an obvious spot for a romantic getaway, we travelled with our two young children and enjoyed one of our favorite family vacations yet. Maybe it was the stunning home (Elkmont) we had the opportunity to stay in? Perhaps it was watching our kids jump out of bed and run to the dairy to check on the animals and help collect eggs (our daughter, who's favorite color is pink, collected a light pink, speckled egg for the chef to use in making her breakfast that morning)? Or maybe it was the romantic and delicious brunch my husband and I enjoyed, while our kids ran on the expansive lawn and played on the most fantastic tree swing in existence? Or perhaps it was the long workout and soothing massage in the new Architectural Digest-worthy spa? Or the long hikes in the Smokey Mountains? Or the multi-course gourmet meals we had delivered to "our very own" lakeside pavilion with an outdoor fireplace and s'mores pit (this may be the best kept secret at the Farm by the way - they'll deliver your meals anywhere on property)? Or the horseback rides? Or the fishing? Or the family golf cart races (Elkmont had TWO for our racing pleasure)? Or feeding the sheep? Or catching crawfish in the river? Or curling up under layers of thick, wool blankets to enjoy an early evening rain shower on Elkmont's screened-in porch from an oversized, swinging sofa? Realistically, it was the combination of all of these precious moments taking place in a pristine setting with the people we love most in the world that led to such an unforgettable vacation.
*We should mention too that we highly cherished staying in a home. Elkmont itself was an experience. The home is spacious, exceedingly comfortable and (most importantly) private, as true retreat. We're spoiled now. Yes, we'll be back to Blackberry Farm. And yes, we'll plan our visit around Elkmont's availability.
Blackberry Farm is located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains of eastern Tennessee. We are within a 3 hour drive from many southern cities as well a short 25 minute drive from the Knoxville airport which has direct flights from more than 19 different cities.
