Fantastic Property in a great location
Our second stay is this beautiful home just steps from the Naval Academy. Big, clean and nicely appointed. And, the host is very quick to answer any questions.
family and reunion
My husband was celebrating is 35th Annapolis. We brought are adult kids, my parents and another couple. The house was perfect for the eight of us. Plenty of room. Close to the academy and downtown. The beds were comfortable and all the rooms were great. The kitchen was nice. I highly recommend this place.
Annapolis
Great home in a great location! Very clean and manager was great. Stayed here for a Naval Academy reunion and the location was perfect! Would definitely recommend it.
Not as represented
Problems started before we arrived. Rented the house months in advance because we needed four bedrooms and parking for two cars. We were notified by the property manager a few weeks before going that there would be no onsite parking due to a new city ordinance. That was a big problem for us as two people in our party have disabilities and difficulty walking. We had to walk from a parking garage one half mile away and it cost us $120.00 to park for the weekend. When we arrived at the house the adjacent renters told us they had been issued two parking passes by their landlord and the city parking authority told us passes were available but had to come from the landlord. We entered the house to find there were only three bedrooms and the airconditioning was not working in one of those. The temperature was 96 degrees in the bedroom. There was a futon in a dirty grunghy basement with no furniture or bathroom they were calling the fourth bedroom. No one would sleep there. The ice maker and the microwave oven in the kitchen were both not working so we had no ice for the entire weekend. We have stayed in VRBO homes all over the world and this was in the worst shape of any and was totally misrepresented
What a shame!
The home was not misrepresented. It is being marketed as a 3 bedroom not a 4 bedroom. I looked back through our initial conversation and I clearly stated that there were 3 bedrooms. I even detailed the bed configuration of 2 bedrooms with queens and 2 twins in the 3rd bedroom.
As for the items that you mention that were not working, if you had contacted me, I would have had them checked out and repaired if necessary. If I am not notified that there is a problem, I cannot address it. As soon as I received your review I sent someone out. I just installed a brand new window AC unit in the 3rd bedroom a month before your stay. Possibly it was turned off when you arrived. It was in working order today when it was turned on. There was an electrical issue that was affecting the microwave and ice maker but this was the first that I learned of it. They are being taken care of this week.
Everyone who has stayed in my home has appreciated the attention to detail and character that went into the home’s renovation. I pride myself in keeping the home a pleasant place to visit.
As for the parking, I have never advertised as having onsite parking. I was providing street passes, which in no way guarantee a parking spot, for renters’ convenience but the city has passed a new ordinance that no longer allows me to purchase them. The neighbor can still provide those as that is her full-time residence that she occasionally rents out. I have no idea why the city’s parking attendant would not be aware of the recent rule changes.
Location, location, location
We came by boat, docked at the city dock, and easily walked the less than one block to the house. Very comfortable for a family of 4.
Beautiful Downtown Annapolis
Beautiful home. Well maintained. Air conditioner for attic is not sufficient, but the rest of the home was very comfortable. I would stay here again. Walk anywhere in downtown Annapolis.
So glad you enjoyed your stay! I will check on the attic AC right away. When I was there a few weeks ago it was actually to cold in that room.
