Photos and Description of this Lancaster holiday cabin

Sleeping loft (2 twin and l Queen bed), double futon in living room, 1 bath

If romance and privacy are what you desire, or a private place for you and your family to take a vacation, then look no more! We have a charming post and beam cabin with breathtaking views from every window and a wonderful screened porch to enjoy during the summer months. The cabin sits on almost 10 acres with an acre and a half, spring fed swimming pond which is 25 ft. deep. During the summer there is a raft and pedal boat on the pond and swimming is magnificent!

We also have a mountain stream that flows the length of our property.

We can see our neighbors' homes from our cabin, but they are not close. You will have all of the privacy you desire!

The sunsets and sunrises are AMAZING!

Leaf peeping in late September, early October is breath taking! There are several places for the kids to enjoy . Close by is Santa's Village, Six Gun City, and about 45 min. away is Story Land and Clark's Trained Bears.

We are located in the Great North Woods surrounded by the White Mountains. There is a 4,000+ foot mountain practically in our back yard.

Logan Airport is approx 3 hours away. There are smaller airports close by (Burlington, Vt. Manchester, N.H)

We have snowshoes for use.

There is no tub, only a large shower in the bathroom. Leading to the loft is a library ladder where there are 2 twin beds and one queen bed. In the living room is a very comfortable double futon.

The main source of heat is a wood stove. There is a gas stove in the basement used to keep the cabin at 50 degrees when the cabin is not in use.

There is NO dishwasher. The kitchen is well equipped with spices, pots, pans, microwave, crock pot.

We have linens and anything else that you might need, along with a washer and dryer.

We are NOT connected to the internet and do NOT have cable TV. There is a library in town for internet. We have a TV and DVD's.

There is a patio with a barbecue grill and a short distance from the cabin is a fire pit for bon fires.

About Elaine Agnew

We are both retired school teachers who designed the cabin ourselves and had the cabin built in 2007.

Why Elaine Agnew chose White Mountains

The cabin is a romantic place no matter what season you visit! Bring a good book, relaxing clothes, kick back and enjoy the peace and tranquility that abounds. It is the perfect place for a couple, or for a small family.

If you are an early riser, the sunrises are beautiful! The evening sunsets can also be breathtaking!

What makes this cabin unique

One can not help but be relaxed at the cabin. It is the perfect place to enjoy beauty, solitude, nature and make wonderful memories.

Relaxing in one of several hammocks either star gazing or or reading a book while listening to the babbling brook is pure Nirvana. I must say, floating around in the spring fed pond, or swimming in it is an experience not to be missed, either.

Slice of heaven for sure!

As you as we pulled up the driveway I was in love. From the welcoming from the cows and the horses to the beautiful flowers and pond. To the beautiful well appointed cabin. Cozy and comfortable with everything you need from pots, to silverware, to games, dvds and books. We had an incredible time. We are looking to book again soon and taking our five year old this time :). Thanks so much for sharing this amazing place with us!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for staying at our cabin. I am sure that the foliage was pretty awesome about the time of your stay. Your 5 year old will love it! Santa's Village is about 5 miles away and between that and catching frogs and playing in the brook, surely, great family memories will be made. We are so very happy you enjoyed your time at the cabin. Thank you.

Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

We only had two days at the property but our souls were fed by the tranquility and the beautiful vistas of God's creation. It rained one day but that didn't matter: we read and rested, watched DVDs and after the rain stopped we caught 5 brook trout in "our" pond. Loved walks along the pond paths and discovering the seating area in the cool of the woods at the stream.

We found Garland Mill, the home's builder, a mile down the road and enjoyed a tour by the owner.

The home was well outfitted with anything we would need and provided more than the typical rental property.

The property was great for us 50 somethings and would be a perfect place for kids to enjoy nature and explore.

Our only regret was that the resident moose did not visit us.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying at our cabin. In your 2 days' stay, you surely packed a lot in! So sorry that it didn't end in a moose siting for you, but at least you got to relax and enjoy the beauty of the cabin and its surroundings.

A haven in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

There aren't enough words to describe how amazingly beautiful this location is, the property is just breath taking. The cabin is decorated beautifully and from every window there is a breathtaking view. I woke up every morning with the sense that I was home which is defiantly due to the feeling of warmth this cabin and property give you. Everything you could need is either at the cabin or just a short drive into town, which the drive alone is filled with spectacular views of mountains. I truly can say this is a slice of heaven on earth. Elaine is the one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure to talk to and is so accommodating and informative with everything you could need. I highly recommend that anyone who needs any peace or fun in their life stay here. I can't wait to return someday soon myself.

Idyllic vacation

  • 5 of 5

Happily nestled between mountains, streams, meadows, and forest, this could possibly be the most beautiful spot on earth.

Inside - a lovely cabin radiating cozy charm, thoughtfully outfitted with everything you could need.

Outside - stunning beauty. Wildflower-lined paths crisscross the yard. Adirondak chairs perfectly positioned around the crystal clear pond teeming with fish and frogs. A peddle boat to take you out to a small dock for swimming and lounging. A firepit with wooden benches perfect for smores and stargazing. Hammocks hung by a beautiful stone stream tucked just inside the woods ideal for reading or just relaxing.

Paradise found.

Very Relaxing Week in Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time time at this wonderful place. So beautiful and relaxing.

Read 3 books and dozed many times so quite and comfortable. The weather was perfect and flowers all in bloom around the pond. 10 minutes from Santa's village, but just far away from any busy tourist areas. Easy 10 minutes to shopping in downtown Lancaster area at Shaw's to get supplies.

The hill you see from your cabin window has a nice state park(Weeks Park) on top with wonderful views and you can drive up or walk. Very quite spot with wonderful views and have a picnic. Great breakfast 20 minutes away at Water Wheel Breakfast & Gift. Wonderful food and great prices.

Elaine was very gracious host and easy to work with for any questions.

Thank You for making your home available to us.

A very special place

  • 5 of 5

Not only was the cabin perfect the entire booking process was great. Elaine was very helpful and was available to speak with should I have needed her.

The cabin was clean. It was great getting away from it all and waking up to the beautiful mountain air.

I look forward to my next visit.

Our cabin is in northern N.H. approx. 50 miles from Canada. Montreal is 2 hours away. The road we live on is a well maintained dirt road with spectacular views! There is a hospital and grocery store in town as well as some restaurants and antique/specialty shops. There is cell service from the cabin!!!!

Mt. Washington is the highest peak east of the Rockies. It is over 6,200 ft. We have a 4,000+ ft mountain at the end of our road. There is a summer theater in the next town over that has several plays on going throughout the summer. Also, in the area are many places to hear chamber music, Celtic music, as well as participate in Scottish dancing and Contra dancing. The Colonial theater in Bethlehem is one of the oldest theaters in the country and plays independent and world cinema as well as live musical events. For children the theme parks of Santa's Village and Six Gun City are within 7 miles of the cabin.

We have several mountains for skiing, biking, hiking, as well as zip lining.

The air is clean and the skies are beautiful! In the summer we have long days.
