Property type barn
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

Minimum Stay
3 - 7 nights

About the property

2.5 bedrooms,1 full bath w/ W/D, sleeps up to 4

Beautiful, newly renovated barn is unlike any other rental. Nestled in a pine forest, surrounded by Nat'l Seashore, owners live next door (but LOTS of privacy) on the 8.5 acres & are organic farmers w/ free ranging chickens & evening fire circle if you like! Concierge service available. Walk or cycle to a nearby bay beach, small kettle pond or Herring River estuary. Located close to some of the most secret & secluded beaches around, it is 1.7 miles to our 5 star library at the edge of town. Bound Brook Island Rd. or the back road to Truro is one the of most beautiful for walking or biking with many diverging paths to explore.

You can rent bikes, kayaks, SUP boards or canoes close by.

There are several places close by to indulge in a yoga class, possibly even early morning SUP yoga. A one week stay will wet your whistle & have you pining for a return visit.

A quaint retreat in the woods close to lots of great Cape Cod draws.

We had a very relaxing time in Wellfleet at Deirdre's property. It was everything we had hoped for - near to beaches, town and activities - surrounded by lovely countryside, and had all the amenities we wanted for our self catered stay in Cape Cod. Highly recommend staying at this property!

Perfect Welfleet getaway

  • 5 of 5

I loved this little cottage so much it's hard to know where to begin! It was immaculate! Cleaner than my own home and I'm pretty tidy! The space was thoughtfully and beautifully appointed. The colors were at once cheerful and soothing. It was far from the madding crowd of the Cape and you can still get to restaurants and shopping quickly if you want to. The location is convenient to going to the ponds and the shore, often allowing you to completely bypass the craziness of Rte 6. Bound Brook beach is all you'll ever need for the perfect Cape Cod beach experience and you can bike there! The owners were friendly and helpful without being hovering or intrusive. I liked that! All in all, it was a great experience and a great value. I'd go back again in a heartbeat.

Nestled in the Wild Wind blown Hills of Wellfleet

  • 5 of 5

Nestled in the wild wind blown hills of Cape Cod, only a few miles from beaches galore. You can decide on the quiet side of the peninsula, with beaches and ponds, and natural preserves. Beautiful walks or drives or bike rides only minutes from your door, (no traffic here!), or the ocean side with it’s wild waves and wonderful winds. The ocean side is only a few miles the other direction, beautiful drive, and easy to bike to. The town of Wellfleet itself is powerful and sweet. There is a lot of history here, with fabulous restaurants, bars and shops, and the living oyster farms and working harbor….Only a short drive away are all the other quaint cape cod towns with Provincetown at the end of the peninsula, maybe 30 minutes away.

The Barn is clean and bright and airy, with all the comforts and amenities you could want. The beds were comfortable, the sheets all cotton and yummy blankets, starry nights. It has been lovingly fixed up and decorated by the owners, who live on the property and have grown up on the Cape. If you want to be left alone you will, or if you want some history from the ‘natives’ they will happily accommodate you, I’m sure. Very friendly owners. I will return over and over whenever I can. I have shared this wonderful location with friends who keep coming back too!

You won’t be disappointed with this lovely respite.

An exquisite hideaway retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our second visit to this beautiful Wellfleet location. An immaculate two-story loft cottage, once a horse barn; this is a serenely wooded, safe and quiet retreat. We bought food at local fish market and farm stands and cooked healthful meals throughout our week-long visit. Our son completely loved the deck, swing, outdoor shower and wooded areas for play. We found a different beach every day. The hosts are attentive and helpful while allowing their guests complete privacy. The perfect place to relax, renew and experience healing.

Lovely & Peaceful Place

  • 4 of 5

My husband & I spent 3 nights enjoying the property and surrounding area in June. Deidre provided great input on things to do and see that were off the beaten path. Visiting in the offseason is a must if you can -- no crowds and a more laidback experience of this beautiful place. The barn is beautifully decorated and lots of space (ideal for a family or group of friends).

Lovely and Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We have been in love with Wellfleet for several years now, and we have at last found a home to rent that we love as well. Deirdre and Lisa are a pleasure to talk with, and I really enjoyed learning about the history of the property. They were very available for any questions we had.

The barn is just as it looks in the photos on this page - it is clean, bright, and airy. The owners have taken obvious care in making the space feel comfortable and lovely, from the paint colors to the well placed art and accents.

We traveled with our 7 year old son, and he appreciated the two tree swings in the yard, as well as the platform in one of the trees. He also enjoyed choosing each night between the Harry Potter bed or the bed in the other private nook upstairs.

We all enjoyed the chickens that came over to visit each afternoon!

The location is perfect for us - quiet and secluded-feeling, but a short drive or bike ride from town.

We are already thinking ahead to when we can book the house for next summer!

Owner's Response: Bobbi thank you so much! We are delighted that your family felt the magic of this property. Renovating the barn was a labor of love. Living on this property is a labor of love! We lived in barn for many years & are so happy to be able to share in the creation of many special memories for your family. This property has always been a place of great entertainment for children & adults alike. It's wonderful to witness people's amazment upon arrival & even better to hear stories of their vacation adventures when they are preparing to leave, usually with hesitation. I would like to thank you for the stellar level of "clean" which you left the barn. It makes our Saturday so much easier when I find that the departing guests have taken the time & care in preparing the barn for the next group arriving. We are committed to people arriving to a space that feels like home, many hands make light work. We hope to see you again in future years, adding to your families best summer memories of Wellfleet & Cape Cod.
