Experience Alaska like never before!
*Winter rates are due to our cabins being "dry". In Alaska, this means no running water. We provide unlimited mountain spring water and an outhouse, but no shower or flushing toilet. Baña (sauna) and hot tub are also available all winter. Please note the water taxi fee is not included.

Fisherman's Cabin Getaway
What a lovely place to spend a few days, to unplug from distractions. This beautiful cabin located between two beaches was so comfortable and the views were unforgettable. So many things to enjoy, like the hot tub, the sauna, the hammock, swing, kayaks, and the peace and quiet. Looking forward to coming back to experience this unique place again one day!

Alaska trip 2021
An amazing property if you want to experience the real Alaska. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay fun and comfortable. This is not luxury and you are not catered to but if you bring your food (and there is plenty to catch on your own!) you will find everything you need for an amazing experience. DO NOT just book 2 nights as we did, you need at least 2-4 nights to take it all in and enjoy. Thank you Kristi and Locklan for one of the best vacations we have had, if only we stayed longer...

About the host

Hosted by Kristi McLean

Host profile image
Kristi, a life long Alaskan, was raised in a log cabin by her pioneer parents. By the age of 20, she had already coached skating and skiing, commercial fished, and was running her own boat and crew. Commercial fishing for salmon, halibut, crab, and herring have taken her throughout Alaska's waters. A self-taught artist, working primarily in clay, she spends her free time sculpting in her Alaska studio.

Why they chose this property

Aside from the cozy, well-appointed rental cabins and Beach House (VRBO#s 993127, 661493, 449876,1587179, 1620934 & 2073319) in a stunning and unique location, you are surrounded by art at Between Beaches. Ceramic sculptures, as well as installations made from copper, glass floats, driftwood, other beachcombing, finds, and clay are around every corner--even in your shower! Also, don't miss a tour of the art studio where Kristi works all winter to provide you with one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces and art kits that will provide perfect memories of your time at Between Beaches Alaska.

What makes this property unique

The waters of Kachemak Bay are some of the richest in the world for sea life, offering visitors an unforgettable experience. Here you will see whales, bald eagles, sea otters, and more from your doorstep. The unique geology of the area has produced a fantastic setting for beachcombing, tide pooling (best at minus tides), fishing, and wildlife viewing. Watch the sunrise over one beach and set over the other.
