About Lysa Riggs
We are a semi-retired couple who can't sit still! We run a B&B in Ridgway, CO and spend our winters here in goofy Gulfport, one of the few remaining Old Florida towns left. We have lived in FL for decades, but Don is from Indiana & Lysa is from Alaska. We love to travel with our cute little Aliner camper and our Yellow Lab, Tristan. We gorge ourselves on the arts here in Tampa Bay as we are just 10 mins. from downtown St. Pete, 30 mins. from Tampa & 40 mins. from Sarasota.
Lysa Riggs purchased this Bungalow in 2017
Why Lysa Riggs chose Gulfport
Because we love vintage properties (we restored a 1886 Victorian in Tarpon Springs, FL), we just couldn't turn down the chance to restore this 1939 gem. Gulfport is charming & quaint with brick streets & lovely tree canopies, wild green parrots, white sandy beaches, great shopping and restaurants, plus you can walk to everything! Watch the pelicans dive for fish, Great Blue Herons capture geckos, fish off our piers, kayak in Clam Bayou, or just sit on the beach & watch sailboats bobbing on the bay.
What makes this Bungalow unique
This lovingly restored home has been in the same family for several generations as just a winter home. Built during the Art Deco period, it still has many original features such as original lighting fixtures, black & white mosaic tile in kitchen & bath, Old Florida Room (which means a large screened front porch with jalousie windows, so it can be used rain or shine), original brass door knobs, and a screened breezeway. So many fun places to hang out. Have coffee in the am on the front porch facing east. Have breakfast on the breezeway or the adjacent deck. If it rains, you're covered; if it's too hot, you're cooled. Life is good!
