Our lodge sits above Lake Shelbyville, a 11,000 acre lake, offers boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and hunting. FireFly Lodge is cozy with a fully equipped kitchen, tiled bathrooms, deck wraps around 3 sides of the house, picturesque lake view, wheel chair accessible on first and second levels, situated on 5 1/2 acres along the wooded shoreline of Lake Shelbyville. Our lodge is great for family gatherings, couples, business travelers, and families (with kids).

This was our 2nd year at this property. This is an annual trip for our extended family. The house works well for us, but there were a few problems this year. First, it had snowed the day we arrived. Nothing was shoveled and the porch and steps were very slick. There was also a dead mouse in the basement area where most of us sleep. Also we saw roaches in the kitchen area.

Great place to stay.

Nice country location with overlook of the lake. A rare find on lake Shelbyville. Plenty of beds and room for a large family, or group of friends.

Why they chose this property

My brother built the cabin as his home with the help of our extended family. As my children grew up it was a hub for family gatherings with a huge yard, jet skiing and multiple levels in the home for different age groups to gather. When he needed to move away he planned on selling the cabin but it felt too important to let go. I approached him about turning it into a vacation rental. This place is special. It provides a peaceful time away and it fills me with memories of our family. We hope you can build memories at FireFly Lodge too.

FireFly Lodge its about Lake Shelbyville, a 11,000 acre lake, offers boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and hunting. All of the land around Lake Shelbeville is owned by the Army Corp. This is one of the few properties that we know of that has a private trail down to the lake. With 5 acres of land and forests on both sides, the only neighbors we see are the deer in the morning and friendly birds.
