Enjoy our spectacular new Highland Lake three story modern lakefront home all season long with private gas fireplaces in bedrooms and wood fireplace in living room. Total privacy assured via 60 wide steps down from the road, with a sensational sunset view of the Platt Hill State Park Scenic Reserve over the 1/2 mile wide peaceful Third Bay. Connecticut's second largest lake, 3 miles long and 60 ft deep with 15 ft visibility, is known for it's bass and trout fishing, in numbers & size. Awesome snow, water, & jet skiing, sailing, or kayaking in our beautiful Bay or any of five quiet coves. Oversized two story wrap around deck allows for a large 15 person gathering. Plenty of state forests and parks to explore; don't forget antiquing in Winsted, at the turn of the century the Nation's largest clock manufacturing center. A mere 5 minutes from the Winchester Town Green National Historic District and 1890 Civil War Monument/Tower & Park. Weather permitting, there is offseason snowmobiling and ice fishing on the frozen lake. Located 4 Miles to Super Stop & Shop and a turn-of the-century dine-in movie theater.

Place was beautiful and clean

  • 4 of 5

Had construction going on next door starting 9am in the morning with a table saw constantly going...took away from the peace and quiet.

We loved our vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family felt so at home in this beautiful and well appointed vacation home. The furnishings are top notch and the lake views are stunning through the many windows. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the deck drinking coffee in the morning, lunch in the afternoon, and relaxing with a good book. Chris and Julie are attentive, kind, and very helpful. Thank you so much!

Peaceful Winter Escape

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house in the "off season" as a convenient get away from Rye New can go back and forth to work etc throughout the week. It was the perfect retreat. Great winter escape-beautiful setting allows for peaceful time with books, friends, games, wifi, views,- best to do a large food shopping spree and relax.

If wanted, Skiing at Sundown is an easy 15 minute drive. House in excellent condition and has a fun relaxed layout. Would love to go back in the summer season to see lake in full swing.

  • 5 of 5

Don't miss this lakefront stunner in a prime location on Highland lake !! Whether you bring a jet ski or a book, you will not be disappointed. Unprecedented views from this gorgeous modern home, would be captivating in any season. Cant wait to return to try the multiple fireplaces. If you require ease in booking, prompt courteous responses, or area recommendations, look no further than Chris. He could not have been more helpful. Great for a week or a long weekend!

Top-Notch Lake House!!

  • 5 of 5

First of all, Chris was an absolute pleasure to deal with the entire time leading up to my party's stay. He was polite, helpful, and unbelievably prompt in his responses.

As for the house, It is absolutely beautiful and you will not be let down. It feels brand new and has all of the amenities you could ask for in a vacation house: Kitchen appliances are fantastic and seem very up-to date, granite counters are beautiful, great gas-stove top, and impeccable bedrooms, bathrooms and showers. The home is also incredibly clean and spotless.

Hands-down the best part of the house is the view, though. When you first walk in you are treated to a breath-taking visual of the lake through the large glass windows (seen in the photo); it is really quite picturesque and makes a perfect morning gathering place to drink a cup of coffee and eat breakfast, The master bedroom (located on the top floor) has it's own private view as well, and there is a gas fireplace located in the room to up the luxurious feel.

The deck is spacious and beautiful as well, and the dock is in an area plenty deep enough to jump into the fresh water lake.

I would definitely rent again and many people in my party were commenting how they were looking to lock up a weekend for them and their spouses next year. A+
