Ansons Bay accommodation
Ansons Bay is a small town 164 kilometres east of Launceston, in Tasmania. Having started out as a logging and fishing town, the area has evolved over time into a fun place to visit. Far enough from the hustle and bustle to allow you to relax, there is plenty that Tasmania's East Coast accommodation can offer regardless of your interests. Far from the stress of city life, Ansons Bay is an incredible place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Why Ansons Bay?
If you love to fish, Ansons Bay is one of the best places in Tasmania to do so in peace. With yellowfin and striped tuna, albacore, striped marlin, mako shark and black bream biting and ready to catch, there's a good chance you can get out of your East Coast accommodation and catch dinner with reasonable speed. Ansons Bay is one of the biggest hotspots for bream in the area.
So Much To See And Do
In the nearby town of Gladstone, you can check out the Tondoon Botanic Gardens. This is a partially wild area that is split between woodlands, wetlands and forests with a wide variety of shrubbery that makes a great place to spend an afternoon and enjoy a picnic. Otherwise, after a stroll head over to the local bistro, The Yacht Club, or one of the most elegant restaurants in the area called Scotties.
Also in the area is the Eddystone Point Lighthouse. Named for the Eddystone Lighthouse near Rame Head, England, this pink granite tower's light can be seen for 40 kilometres out to sea. One of the best things about this tower is the ornate stairs that led up to it.
The St. Helens History Room is also a great place to learn about the area. If you like history, you can learn about the local geneology and where the best trails are for hiking in the area. It's also a great place to a chat with the friendly locals.
Enjoyable Natural Sights
Nearby Ansons Bay is the township of St. Helens, an area known as the game fishing capital of Tasmania. With a lot of kelp forests and an extensive underwater cave network, fishing is not the only reason to go out on the water in this area. On land, the Peron Dunes are also a great sight to take in. The beaches are not just fun places to swim. With white sands and huge boulders made of granite, they are also very scenic.
Some of the best things about this area are the coastal vineyards and the tours you can take on four-wheelers. You can also charter a boat to find a great fishing spot or see the local area. If simplicity is your thing, you'll enjoy just taking a long walk in the local bushland.
Why Choose A Rental?
A rental home is the perfect way to get away from it all. Just far enough away to escape all the stresses of modern life, you're still close enough to civilization to stay in touch and enjoy modern amenities. If you're looking for a great place to kick back with a good book or see some incredible sights, a rental is the perfect temporary home.
