Boatswain Point Accommodation
Boatswain Point is a small coastal village near Mount Benson and Robe along the Limestone Coast. As a springboard into the Limestone Coast region, this tiny village is an excellent way to see heaps of great things over a short holiday in the same way a local person would. Being close to the Mount Benson wine region is just as fun as being close to Mount Gambler's Blue Lake or the Pool of Siloam in Beachport.
Why Boatswain Point?
Boatswain Point is a great little place for getting away from it all. Boasting all of the seclusion a person could want but keeping all of the modern conveniences, this is an amazing place to use as a base. From your Limestone Coast accommodation, you can check out some incredible natural wonders that the locals say took 26 million years for nature to construct. The history in this area iis palpable and is a point of pride on every possible front, all the way up to being in the same area as Penola, the home of Saint Mary MacKillop -- Australia's first saint.
What's Great To See And Do?
Take a little road trip up to the Coorong National Park and have a great time driving a 4 wheel drive vehicle around, or take a boat and enjoy the water. With the shallow saltwater lagoons separated from the Southern Ocean by white sand dunes, you can fish for over 80 different species that live in these lagoons. You can even go hunting for middens, or mounds of shells built up by the Indigenous Ngarrindjeri people of the area.
Enjoyable Local Attractions
Taking a trip to the wine country is time very well spent. Amongst the six wine regions in this area is the Coonawarra, which is the best known and all of Australia's top producer of great red wines. You can head around to nearby Mount Benson and sample all kinds of wines straight from the cellar doors of several different wineries.
There are also all kinds of completely natural sites that are of immense natural significance. For example, the Blue Lake on Mount Gambler completely fills up the crater of a dormant volcano. In Beachport, the Pool of Siloam is 7 times as salty as the water of the ocean. As well, the entire Limestone Coast is formed from untold amounts of wildlife sinking to the bottom of the sea on the coast and building it up over millions of years.
From the Boatswain Point holiday rentals, you have a perfect view of the entire area. With so much to see all around you and the ability to see it as only a local normally can, this is a far better experience than a hotel could ever offer. With so much great stuff to see and your base in Boatswain Point accommodation, you can choose to either relax in the serenity of this tiny village or go on an adventure to see as much as possible.
