  • Retreat from the world for a weekend

We had a great time on Sally's farmstay. In the day, we had the chance to take a tour of the farm itself: Sally offered an immersive walkthrough of a working commercial farm, answering questions about how it all works while showing us her dogs, horses, chickens, the sheep and shearing quarters, as well as the cattle. At night, we had a change to roast marshmallows over a bonfire. The stars are all visible at night too. Once you've had enough of doing things, there's the accommodation to retreat to and spend time with whoever you're there with. The accommodation itself is excellent; 3 rooms, plenty of spare linen, a fully stocked kitchen (cutlery and pottery, not ingredients), good heating, views all around, and a few hundred meters away from the next cottage. There was an outdoor bath but it wasn't working when we visited, but not a lot missed given the cold at the time. Stocking up on supplies at Orange before arriving is a good idea, given the 40 minute drive, but you'll probably be heading in once just to try a local restaurant/cafe anyway. Sally was very responsive, very accommodating with requests. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her.

The cottage was perfect on a very scenic property with lots of fun things for the kids to explore. We had a great time relaxing with a wine by the fire
