Cape Tribulation accommodation
Cape Tribulation is a headland town located 110 kilometres north of Cairns in the Daintree National Park and Wet Tropics World Heritage area. With its tiny population, this area still looks largely unspoiled by the hand of man. Because of this unspoiled beauty, this area is the perfect backdrop for Tropics & Great Barrier Reef accommodation. There are even rare plants and animals to see in this area if you look closely.
Why Cape Tribulation?
Since 1988, the forest around Cape Tribulation has been a World Heritage site. Because of the protected nature of the area, a lot of the Cape Tribulation holiday rentals are in places that would never have been built today. Further building in this area may be very slow or even close to non-existent, which makes every home a more valuable and secluded place to get away from it all.
What Should You See And Do?
When you come to Cape Tribulation, you will see how this Tropics & Great Barrier Reef area has earned its name. With the Great Barrier Reef itself only 19 km away, the charter boats that leave the beach periodically are great for checking it out. If you love to scuba dive, there's a lot to see under the surface. But even if you like to stay above the water, there are tons of things to do. Riding horses through the area is a great way to get off your feet and still enjoy the outdoors. If you want a little more horsepower, you can hop on a 4WD and take in the local trails that way. For those who can't get away from the water, there is also jungle surfing aplenty, kayaking and even croc cruises.
Top Local Attractions
There are plants and animals in this area that do not exist anywhere else in the world. If you like tiny creatures, you can check out the Daintree Entomological Museum, where you can check out the butterflies and beetles that local collector Steve Lamond has collected across a lifetime. You can also see the cassowary, a creature that is thought to have evolved directly from the dinosaurs that once lived in the area. Naturally, there are also crocs in the area. There is even the Cape Trib Exocit Fruit Farm, where you can enjoy an exotic fruit tasting and a tour of the orchard any day of the week.
Cape Tribulation rentals are great places to be that allow you to experience the area as it should be experienced. You can pretend to be a local and simply take a random stroll out your door at any time of the day or night. With so much to see in the area, you could stay a long time and still have all kinds of new experiences. Unlike with other kinds of accommodations, with a rental home the experience is authentic and genuine.
