Renting Holiday Homes in Cleveland

The vivacious coastline village of Cleveland is perhaps one of Australia’s best hidden gems. Nestled in the Redlands Bay area not far from Brisbane, Cleveland is a place of beauty, serenity and vibrancy. With a bustling harbour, great restaurants, stunning natural beauty and many attractions and things to do, it is little wonder why so many holidaymakers from all areas of the world journey here to experience Cleveland’s atmosphere and character for themselves.

Experience the beauty of the sand and sea

Situated on the coastline, Cleveland’s beaches are one of the most popular tourist attractions. Popular with the entire family, whether you are five or 50, a day at the beach is a day full of fun. There are endless things to do here; build sandcastles, go swimming with the fishes, snorkelling, diving, surfing or enjoy one of the mother many water sports available. To enhance that beach holiday feel, why not stay in one of the many private holiday rentals along the promenade. The sight and smell of the sea when you first wake up in the morning is a breathtaking way of starting the day.

So much more than a beach holiday

Needless to say, Cleveland’s beaches are simply divine, but if you do eventually tire of the sand and crystalline waters then Cleveland and the surrounding area are yours for the exploring. The Redlands Museum is the first stop for anyone interested in the history of this stunning region. Come here to be amazed by the old pioneering artefacts, including farming machine, a coach as well as reconstructions of an old blacksmith’s forge and old settler’s schoolrooms.

For more history, venture along the Heritage Trail, where you will get to experience and explore Cleveland’s many historical attractions. Many of these sites date from the 1850s and 1860s and are guaranteed to enthral visitors of all ages.

The Harbourside is a bustling place full of excitement and colour. The views overlooking the bay will have you imagining that they were taken from a fairytale book. The boats here offer trips out into the ocean for deep sea fishing and diving trips, or simply watch them sail in and out of the harbour as you enjoy one of the freshest seafood dishes in the many restaurants here.

If you are looking to increase the atmosphere of your holiday to Cleveland, then staying in your very own luxury holiday villa or serviced apartment will greatly enhance it. There are many family friendly holiday apartments up and down the coastline or in the heart of the town for those who want to be closer to the action.

Holiday destinations in Coastal Queensland

Coastal Queensland is perhaps one of Australia’s best regions for holidays. The area surrounding Cleveland is inundated with gorgeous national parks and island hideaways which are just begging for you to explore them. At night, why not experience a very different side of Cleveland. There are a number of romantic little restaurants and eateries which are perfect for couples before heading back to your holiday house with the moon and brilliant stars guiding your way.

The best time to arrive in Cleveland

Cleveland, as with the rest of Coastal Queensland, enjoys a humid semi-tropical climate. Summers in Australia are winters in the Northern Hemisphere so it is important that you know this before booking your holiday to Australia. In the summer, temperatures can average around 30 °C, whereas in the winter the average temperature is around 10 °C. Remember that the sun can still damage your skin even when it is cloudy, so do as the Australians do and apply plenty of sunscreen and drink lots of fluid so you don’t become dehydrated.

Travelling to Cleveland

Travelling to Cleveland in Australia is not difficult at all. Departing from London Heathrow Airport, there are several daily flights which arrive in Brisbane Airport, the closest airport to Cleveland, around 50 minutes drive away. Airlines which offer daily flights include British Airways, Quantas Airways, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines and Emirates with stopovers in Singapore, Malaysia, Abu Dhabi, Seoul, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney. It won’t be too long, however, that you will be relaxing in your luxury accommodation in Cleveland and ready for the adventure to really begin.

Plenty of room

5 of 5
Travelled from Sydney with our large family (22) very warm inviting family home, plenty of room to spread out. Clean & tidy well maintained. Plenty of car space with drive through garage was great. (ONLY) hiccup was VERY slippery when coming out of pool (yes there is a slippery when wet sign) though we just put a couple of towels down for safety. Would definitely recommend Casa Grande Vida. Thank you Maria for sharing your home

Spacious and clean

4 of 5
We have just returned from our holiday and wanted to ensure we left an accurate review of redlands retreat. The property was very spacious and considering we had 3 couples and 2 children it never felt crampt or noisy. The presentation upon arrival was excellent and the owners met us and gave us some helpful information and even some milk and bread which was most welcome after our long drive. The downstairs comprises of two lounges with the one at the rear of the property having air conditioning which was needed in the afternoons and early evenings on some days. The kitchen is large with American style fridge freezer. It was well equipped although a wok and sharp knife would be a good addition in the future. We made full use of the bbq provided and enjoyed eating out on the patio which overlooked the pool and gardens. The laundry is fantastic and having the two pull out laundry bins was great as we all had some washing to do during our stay. Upstairs there was one large master, a queen and two twin bedrooms all neatly presented with towels on beds and bars of soap. The main bathroom had a bath, vanity and shower (the pressure wasn't great but that's probably just my personal preference). A bin in the main bathroom would be a welcome addition. The upstairs and all bedrooms were air conditioned and featured fan. We did make use of the air conditioning. The swimming pool was amazing and beautifully cool for such warm days and surprisingly deep. I think it would be ashame to not have a pool at this property! Listed on items online were a DVD player and hair dryer both of which we did not find anywhere. I didn't mind not finding a DVD player as we were mostly busy anyway socialising with our family but thought I'd mention it. Also there was no hair dryer, I think putting one in the main bath would be a good idea. Aside from these small items the owners went above and beyond by providing and installing stair gates prior to our arrival and were very welcoming. The communication throughout was excellent and allowing our dog to stay was fantastic. The outside space provided for Banjo was good with grassy areas to the back and side. We were plesently surprised to find a dog friendly park and play park for the kids within a five minute walk from the property and there was an excellent off leash park and beach front play park within a 5 minute drive called GJ walter Park, which we spent an evening at and had dinner overlooking the sea. We had a great time and I woul
