Darling Darlinghurst

Darlinghurst is one of Sydney's most popular artistic and cultural hubs, and is dearly loved by many holiday makers, students, designers and shopaholics. Located in the inner city, Darlinghurst is constantly bursting with energy and life. It is a suburb that attracts many different types of individuals who admire its architecture, drink many a good coffee and visit art exhibitions which are constantly occurring in the area. As it is also one of Sydney's oldest areas, Darlinghurst contains many well preserved sand stone buildings that are still being used today. Travelling Around Darlinghurst

Busses are running frequently throughout the main streets of Darlinghurst, and will escort you into Sydney's CBD for a reasonable price. Darlinghurst is so conveniently located, being less than ten minutes from popular attractions including The Sydney Tower and The Sydney Opera House. Taxis are also abundant, and drivers will happily take you to various destinations around the city. Bondi Beach is also a short drive away, where you can relax on the sand and enjoy ocean views.

Have Fun With The Kids

If you are travelling with children, visit Darling Harbour to see The Sydney Aquarium and go to the Imax Theatre for a fantastic 3D movie experience. At this waterside area you can also eat out at one of many fantastic restaurants, or stroll along the wharf as you enjoy a scrumptious gelato. You could even take a family ghost tour if you are game!

Climate in Darlinghurst

Darlinghurst and its surrounds experience humid summers and mild winters. During the hotter months, temperatures range from around 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, and in winter the temperature is usually around 10 degrees. No matter what time of year you choose to organize a rental appartment or holiday house in Darlinghurst, you will be sure to enjoy yourself and make some fantastic memories. If you are more of a beach lover and plan to spend time in the Sydney surf, it is definitely a better idea to travel from December to February.

Getting there from the UK

If you have made the choice to travel to Australia, it is always a good idea to book your ticket far in advance in order to avoid inflated ticket prices. The flight is more than twenty hours from the UK and although you can purchase a direct flight, many airlines will give you a stop over in another country. This will allow you to break up the flight time a little.

On arrival in Sydney there are a few options you can take in order to get to your accommodation in Darlinghurst. Public transport is more common amongst locals who know their way around the city, and can be exhausting for travellers booking a holiday appartment especially if it is their first time in the country. In order to get to Darlinghurst from the Airport using public transport, it is necessary to take a train to Museum station, and then a bus which will take you directly there. Depending on the bus and train times, this can take only around twenty five minutes.

Another option would be to catch a taxi from the Airport, and they are always abundant. If not, a driver can be arranged for often a reasonable price, and you would arrive at your holiday destination in around twenty minutes.

We loved our time here. The apartment was in a great location. Walking distance from anything you would need and a block from the train/bus. We slept 5 comfortably. The kitchen was stocked with the basics and we were able to cook dinner a few times instead of going out. Inna was great! She sat down with us and showed us on the map where to locate everything.
