Eagle Bay: The Perfect Seaside Holiday
Eagle Bay is a small seaside neighbourhood and beach in the Cape Naturaliste locality of Western Australia. Due to its proximity to the city, Eagle Bay is sometimes considered part of Dunsborough. The region is ideally located, with close proximity to all of Dunsborough, Busselton, and Cape Naturaliste's attractions. A picturesque and prestigious town, Eagle Bay plays hosts many exclusive holiday homes of some of the region's wealthiest.
Hit The Beach
Though the area has plenty of other attractions, the beach is the primary reason the Dunsborough area is such a popular holiday spot for families. It's easy to see why: Eagle Bay, Meelup, and Bunker Bay are all lovely coasts with plenty to see and do. Unlike other South West accommodation, Eagle Bay accommodation is primarily concerned with the beach. Rentals without a seaside view or beach access are a rarity. Many holiday makers choose to stay at Eagle Bay holiday rentals, which are spacious and generally located directly on the beach or a short walk away.

Divers can't miss a trip to the HMS Swan, one of the largest shipwrecks accessible to divers in all of the Southern hemisphere. The sunken naval destroyer stretches a whopping 113 metres. One of the most popular dive sites in the country, the Swan is just a 15-minute boat ride offshore.
If you'd rather stay closer to the surface, the snorkeling in Eagle Bay is phenomenal. It's also a fabulous fishing spot, so bring your poles and get ready to catch dinner! Nearly all Eagle Bay holiday rentals come with a private kitchen, so you can cook up the day's catch in the comfort of your rental home.
In the evening, take a stroll around the trails that circle the Geographe Bay and watch the sun go down over the water.
Tour the Famed Margaret River Wine Country
You can't come to the region without exploring the world-renowned wine scene in the area. Though the first wine was produced just a few decades ago, the Margaret River area now hosts an incredible 80 wineries and over 200 vineyards. If you're a fan of reds, you'll find that cabernet sauvignons and merlots rule the region, but shiraz is also another popular variety. Looking to taste whites? The area primarily produces chardonnay, but lovely semillion-sauvignon blancs are also becoming exceedingly popular and with cellar doors open everywhere, you'll be spoilt for choice.
If you can only hit a few wineries, start with the oldest: Moss Wood, Cullen Wines, and Vasse Felix. If you're a fan of reislings, be sure to hit Ashbrook before you leave the area. Many wineries serve snacks or meals at on-site restaurants and cafes, so you can sample some classic pairings on your tour.
Whether you're in the region to sample the wines or just to hit the beach, it's hard to imagine a lovelier seaside holiday than one at Eagle Bay, and if you're looking for Eagle Bay accommodation, don't look past holiday rentals that cater for every type and taste of holiday maker.
