Welcome To Forrest Beach

Forrest Beach is a historic coastal community located on the Coral Sea in Queensland. The settlement is just 20 kilometres from Ingham; in fact, Forrest Beach is considered to be Ingham's main surfing beach. The town is also an hour and a half from Townsville and three hours from Cairns.

Townsville Accommodation In Forrest Beach

Forrest Beach accommodation tends to be modest and inviting. Expect spacious floor plans, stunning views, and tasteful furnishings. Many Forrest Beach holiday rentals offer al fresco dining and outdoor barbeques. Forrest Beach accommodation tends to put an emphasis on two things: the beach, and peace and quiet. You won't find the massive crowds of tourists in Forrest Beach, and area accommodation reflects the quiet nature of the community.

What To Do In Forrest Beach

The biggest attraction in Forrest Beach is definitely the beach. You'll find seven glorious kilometres of sunny sand and blue waters - and best of all, it's relatively uncrowded all year round. There's also a stinger-protection enclosure for safe swimming. If you're a surfer, you're in luck: this beach is considered to be the best beach for surfing in the Halifax Bay. Forrest Beach is also patrolled by the Forrest Beach Surf Life-Saving Club.

Nearby you'll find playgrounds, barbeques, and a general store equipped to meet any holiday maker's needs. Bring your boat along on holiday, because Forrest Beach also has an active boat ramp. The fishing is spectacular off the shore, so bring your poles and be prepared to cook up the day's catch in your holiday rental kitchen. There's also estuary fishing on the south side of Cassidy Creek.

Explore Ingham

Ingham is the nearest major town to Forrest Beach. The town is known for both its long history and its significant Italian-Australian heritage. It's estimated that half of Ingham's population can claim one or more Italian ancestors. In fact, the town's major claim to fame is its annual Italian-Australian festival, a grand celebration of culture, food, and wine.

In addition to Italian culture, Ingham's other claim to fame is its history with sugar cane. You'll find Victoria Sugar Mill nearby, home of the largest sugar mill in the country. Be sure to wet your whistle at Lee's Hotel, the original 'Pub With No Beer,' as immortalised in the Slim Dusty song and Dan Sheahan poem. Don't worry, though: Lee's Hotel is now well-stocked with brews and pledges never to run out of beer again.

If you're looking to explore nature, look no further than Jourama Falls National Park. This beautiful spot is popular with locals and travellers alike, with beautiful scenery and plenty of hiking to enjoy.

If you're looking to enjoy the sand, sun, and surf without the crowds, Forrest Beach may be the perfect holiday destination for you.

This property was exactly what we were looking for. A place that could accommodate the 10 of us blokes when we weren’t fishing. Big lounge room with pool table and big couches and tv. Nice undercover BBQ area at the front. Right on the beach, close to the ramps, steps from the pub. Nice owners, very friendly and helpful. All in all, a solid choice for a getaway. Thoroughly enjoyed.

We absolutely loved our stay. The house is beautifully renovated and everything is well thought out. We made the most of the outdoor kitchen & entertaining area. We also appreciated the little extras in the fridge & pantry. We will definitely be back!
