Grange is a suburb of Adelaide on the coast. Nestled in the city of Charles Sturt, this suburb is a mere 11 kilometres west of Adelaide's city centre. The town was named for the cottage of Captain Charles Sturt. Being close to Adelaide but far enough away to allow a more laid back 'beach bum' lifestyle, Grange holiday rentals allow you to kick back and settle in for a more relaxing time than you could have amid the hustle and bustle of the city proper.
The town of Grange has a lot to offer you. With the scenic parklands in the center, the beach and the nearby reserves, Grange is a great place to spend some time. However you also have the benefit and convenience of popping over to Adelaide and take in all that it has to offer. With so much to see and do there, you might get worn out but you won't ever tire of it.
Things To See And Do?
If you enjoy a glass of wine, you can always check out the C.A. Henschke & Co. winery, where they produce the iconic Hill of Grace Shiraz. With its intimate tasting room and the opportunity to see how the wine is made, it's a neat experience. Another great place to visit is the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, which is a lovely place with some fine artwork. One of the best pieces on display is the bronze statue of St. Mary McKillop holding hands with children.
Another great place to go is the Dunstan Adventure Playground. Both younger and older children will enjoy the long slide, the flying fox and the suspension bridge. Generally, even adults enjoy the slide. Plus, it's a very short distance from Linear Park by Torrens River.
Fun Local Attractions
If you like military vehicles, the National Military Vehicle Museum is a great place for a history lesson that's anything but boring. Near the RAAF base, the area is veritably stacked with old weapons and vehicles used to defend Australia from her enemies. If you prefer to fight your battles personally, you might enjoy the KartMania & Laser Force Skirmish Centre, where you can virtually annihilate your friends for up to 45 minutes at a stretch. If you like your fun to be a bit more slow-paced, you can always check out Life's a Beach and take a tour of the beaches in South Adelaide.
Why Stay In Rentals?
Choosing Adelaide accommodation like a holiday rental allows visitors to live just like a local would and pretend that you're at home in this fine suburb. You can rent a substantially larger and better appointed place in Grange than you could in the center of Adelaide, and you get to listen to bird songs instead of traffic thundering by. Overall, this is a great way to stay somewhere most people never get to live full time.
