Situated on the southern outskirts of Kiama, Kiama Heights is 120 kilometres south of Sydney and offers visitors stunning coastline and relaxing, atmospheric surrounds. There are several surf beaches fronting the South Pacific Ocean at Kiama as well as fine restaurants and alfresco cafe's. It's an ideal place to set up in your Kiama Heights accommodation on the New South Wales South Coast.

Accommodation In Stunning Surrounds

Kiama Heights is south of Wollongong on the Princess Highway that links Melbourne with Sydney via the coastal route. Close by the bustling city of Wollongong, Kiama Heights offers visitors all the conveniences of city living with all the benefits of a relaxed coastal village. Choosing Kiama Heights holiday rentals provides travellers with wide open spaces overlooking the ocean and rolling hills filled with prized Illawarra Shorthorn cattle.

Kendalls Beach Kiama Heights

The nearest beach to your Kiama Heights holiday rental is known as Kendalls Beach. It's beautifully set in a protected bay with Kaleula Head to its south and Kendalls Point to its north. This picturesque, cosy inlet is a perfect spot for an intimate picnic, surrounded by crashing surf and unique rock formations. Kendalls beach in Kiama Heights is a popular family swimming spot that offers safe surf as well as a playground for children and a BBQ for outdoor entertaining.

The Kiama Blowholes

Two of the most impressive attractions in the Kiama area are its blowholes. When the tides are high and the oceans rough and rugged Kiama's dual blowholes put on a spectacular show, reaching heights of 60 metres and creating an impressive sound and sight. If the surf is pumping, the blowholes are worth a visit at night, when they are floodlit and even more exciting. There's also a lighthouse at Blowhole Point and a wonderfully restored pilot's cottage that's now run as a museum. The smaller blowhole is a few minutes south of the big blowhole, closer to Kiama Heights.

An Anglers Paradise

Your stay in Kiama Heights accommodation will allow you to enjoy some the fantastic fishing opportunities around the Wollongong area. Fish such as marlin, morwong, flathead, snapper, mulloway, kingfish and yellowfin tuna are within easy reach once you launch your boat at one of the five boat ramps that are available. If you're more of an inland fisher you'll love the Minnamurra River. This is a mangrove ecosystem where you can while away an afternoon quietly fishing for blackfish, flathead, bream and whiting.

The Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk

While in the area don't miss the opportunity to experience the Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk. One of Australia's best tree top walks, The Illawarra delivers breathtaking views and has a café where you can enjoy a gourmet meal and a hot drink to settle your nerves and reward yourself.

Quality Kiama Heights Accommodation

Kiama Heights holiday rentals offer visitors all the conveniences of a bustling city centre, with all the benefits of a relaxed coastal location, such as warm weather, clean sand and clear water. There are few other forms of accommodation that can match the freedom of a quality home away from home on one of Australia's foremost coastlines. Enjoy peace, privacy and independence with a Kiama holiday rental and enjoy a relaxed home away from home.

Nice place

4 of 5
The Pros: Location was great. The view was very nice. The owners had a little breakfast hamper prepared. The room itself was very clean spacious with a very homely feel. Andy and Kim (Owners) were super friendly and helpful. The Cons: The room is at the rear of the property and actually under the owners house, this can get a little noisy especially early in the morning. On Sunday morning (approx 7:30ish) I awoke to the sounds of a shower running, drawers opening and closing, light switches turning on and off, toilets flushing and footsteps thudding around. All of this seemed to be happening right above our bed. I am no light sleeper but this was enough to wake me up and not allow me to go back to sleep. My wife said she also heard the noises but was able to sleep through it. Guest access is a pathway down the side of the main house. There is no actual path - just concrete stepping stones. The block is quite steep and whilst not really a problem in the daytime, it can be a little tricky/dangerous at night of after a few wines. The shower head, please oh please Andy and kim - change that shower head. It is horrible, its the type of shower head that sprays out a fine mist at high pressure. Its like washing yourself with an industrial pressure cleaner. The bathroom offers no privacy whatsoever- as the whole place is open plan and has no wall to separate the bathroom, this only really bothered us when one of us needed to use the toilet. Privacy in general is ok, the neighbors deck can see straight into your room if you leave the blinds open (not that this happened but it could). Also the window on the staircase could use a blind installed (as it appears that the owners may be able to look down from their loungeroom into your room). The hot tub is nice, my recommendation would be to build a pergola over the hot tub, this way it can be used in rainy weather - It would also offer added privacy as the owners higher rear deck can see straight into the hot tub. A privacy screen on one side of the hot tub would also offer added privacy from the neighbors on the high side of the hill (once again they would be able to see the hot tub from their decks). I only mention the privacy items as this is more of a "couples" accommodation. And privacy is something that most people want when seeking a couples getaway. With all this in mind I would still recommend this place for anyone seeking a couples getaway - and I definitely would stay there again.
