Leichhardt is an inner suburb of Australia's largest capital city, Sydney. Situated just five kilometres from the city centre, Leichhardt accommodation is much sought after by family and other groups visiting iconic sights like the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.

Colourful Cultural Connections

Leichhardt has a special appeal for those with any connection to Italy as its been known for many years as 'Little Italy' and even boasts an Italian Forum shopping centre established off Norton Street in Leichhardt. The Italian Forum is most notable for its design which emulates the Mediterranean town of Piazza. Spend an afternoon enjoying the Forum's courtyard of fantastic indoor and outdoor restaurants. Above the courtyard is the Leichhardt library surrounded by boutiques and small shops catering for all tastes.

So Many Attractions To Enjoy

Norton Street itself is a mix of residential buildings and commerce. There are stacks of Italian restaurants, and eateries to suit all tastes and occasions as well as popular bars and cafes. All these are found among bookshops and grocery stores, hotels, the Pacific Cinema and another shopping centre, the Norton Plaza. Other attractions near your Leichhardt accommodation include:

  • The Leichhardt Oval. Home to the Rugby league teams Wests Tigers and the APIA Leichhardt Tigers
  • Blackmore Oval's used for baseball and rugby league games
  • 36th Battalion Park has a grassed area that features a half sized basketball court, children's play ground and electric BBQs for outdoor celebrations and eating
  • War Memorial Park surrounds the Bicentennial Rotunda and war memorial among a large grassed area and native plants

Added Value With Leichhardt Accommodation

Leichhardt accommodation is lower priced than Sydney accommodation which gives it added value as it is only a few minutes away with a regular running bus transport service. This means you can enjoy your holiday rental in Leichhardt while being able to visit and take part in all the vibrant attractions Sydney has to offer. Once you've taken in the sea, sun and sand at one of Sydney's world famous beaches, enjoy a coffee in Leichhardt or spend up big and shop until you drop. Visit the nearby Westfield Sydney where you can explore four floors of your favourite fashions. You can walk through the Strand Arcade and the Queen Victoria Building and look in awe at their wonderfully restored interiors as you browse through the fashion boutiques that display both international and local brands.

Why Choose Holiday Rentals?

Everyone deserves a little luxury. When you look at Sydney accommodation, one of the best ways to get more for your dollar is to choose a holiday rental just outside of the city limits. By choosing to stay in Leichhardt, you can have a big multi-bedroom home with fantastic amenities like a laundry, pool or outdoor dining area. All members of your family will have room to spread out with a spacious living room, kitchen, and al fresco dining area. Add some relaxation to your city trip to Sydney by choosing a holiday rental that will set the stage to help you kick back.

The unit was a little worn and could use some updating but the cleanliness made up for this. Location was excellent, walked everywhere. Issue was with obtaining the key, last minute email from host that no one was meeting us and we had to walk a few blocks away to get the key and then we were on our own with no instructions on the unit, elevator, building, etc. all after a 16 hour plane ride.

We chose this apartment because our daughter lives in the Forum. It was perfect for our needs. Every utensil under the sun was provided-I cook a lot. The bed was very comfortable. Norton Street had everything-Irish pub does great meals a super wine bar Creak and Cellar where we had a family do, hairdresser in the centre was great, wonderful patisserie where we had breakfast lots. Every little problem was sorted out with no fuss-thank you Josip and Greg.A real home from home. It's on a flight path but we became accustomed quite quickly. We hope to go back next year.
