Main Beach is the Place To Be

The Gold Coast boasts many wonderful places to stay and Main Beach is one such place. It is on the same peninsula as the iconic Surfers Paradise and is bordered on three sides by the Nerang River and The Broadwater. The ocean lies to the east so this makes it feel like island living for sure. For those who want a tropical feel, finding holiday accommodation in Main Beach is just the way to achieve it.

Although Main Beach is only about one square kilometer in size, there are many parkland areas and the place is well developed. Tedder Avenue is where to find great restaurants and luxury boutiques which all bodes well for anyone who wants a casual and no fuss lifestyle. Accommodation is available all throughout the area and ranges from holiday villas and caravan parks to the most luxurious accommodation imaginable.

What to See do in Main Beach

Of course, anyone coming to Australia will want to experience a little of the outback experience. Try this at the Outback Spectacular where guests will enjoy a superb meal, a cool show and they also get to take home a Bushman’s hat as well! In just four years the establishment has received more than one million visitors so they must be doing something right!

Nearby Currumbin hosts a rather unusual Wildnight Adventure, the only night time tour which includes animals. Not only do holiday makers get some super food, they also get to engage with animals and get some traditional entertainment thrown in to boot!

Animal lovers can also experience the Wildlife Sanctuary which has all the usual suspects for people to see. Kangaroos and Koalas are the most popular as one would suspect, but great buffet lunches and entertainment will be available most days. All of the tourist attractions are within easy reach of the chosen holiday accommodation.

A rather unusual place to visit is Infinity. This is a maze of very odd sensual experiences with special effects and sound fields. There are different illusions to experience and the whole thing is family friendly and takes about forty minutes.

Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum is a must see for those who like the odd and unusual. There are strange stories and magic, mystery and really crazy exhibits and all of them live up to the popular TV programme that has been on our screens for years.

For the grown ups in the party, why not try out the XXXX Ale House Brewery Tour? Dads will love this one for sure. Visiting this brewery takes people right back to the beginning and shows them how the company has progressed over the years. It has been in existence for more than one hundred and thirty years now so they have a great display of art and heritage to impart to the public.

It is also quite natural for holiday makers to want to try out the national parks along the coast. This can be done by hiring boats and traveling into the hinterland to see rock formations and wildlife as it should be seen. Crocodiles and dolphins are to be found along the coast and into the rivers and sometimes the tour boats allow swimming – with the dolphins only! Snorkelling is absolutely breath taking and the abundance of sea life in this pristine paradise has to be seen to be believed. All kinds of water equipment can be hired so there is no need to be concerned about flippers and snorkel or diving gear.

Holiday accommodation around the Gold Coast is absolutely second to none and it all depends how much can be afforded. For the deep of pocket, luxury holiday villas are available, complete with private pools for the kids to let rip in. For those on a tighter budget, caravan parks or camper’s havens are also available. In between are serviced apartments or holiday homes and most of them will have facilities far in excess of what we are used to at home. In fact, even the cheapest of accommodation is very adequate considering that most people will spend all their time out of doors anyway.

Getting to Main Beach

Major airlines fly from the UK to Brisbane or the Gold Coast International Airport and from there it is only a brief transfer to the beaches. Booking all this, plus the entertainment and accommodation, from home on the internet, is the best way to ensure a stress free holiday for all!

Climate at the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast boasts a minimum of three hundred sun filled days per year. Hence the difficulty in picking a bad time to visit! However, jetting off to the sun may well be kept for those dark days of winter that we all hate so much. The rainy season, between June to December, may not be suitable for backpacking but reasonably priced accommodation can be found for those odd times when there is a downpour.

Perfect location in Surfers Paradise. The beach and tram stop a minutes walk away, and bars, restaurants and main supermarket within a 5 minute walk. Value for money was excellent, 3 of us stayed here but the apartment could have easily accommodated 5.

Wonderful apartment

5 of 5
We absolutely enjoyed our 5 day stay at your apartment! It felt like we were just at home with the beautiful furniture and amazingly stocked kitchen especially all of the extra plates, cups and bowls for our children. One of the best parts was the fact we were only on level 8 so it took a split second to get down to the pool area every day, but also receiving such amazing views of the ocean and the pool area itself. We will definitely be back!
