Paradise Beach, Victoria, Australia

Does The Location Live Up to the Name? Paradise Beach, Australia

Watersports Holiday Wonderland

Paradise Beach is part of the Gippsland Lakes area. The beach sits on a narrow strip of land bounded by Lake Reeve on one side and the Tasman Sea’s Bass Strait on the other. Paradise Beach is technically part of Ninety-Mile Beach. Running northeast from Port Albert to Lakes Entrance, Ninety-Mile Beach is the world’s third-longest uninterrupted beach. This sprawling expanse of clean sand is a natural launchpad for a wide array of watersports and related activities.

There are several small townships along the beach – Paradise Beach, Golden Beach, Seaspray, Loch Sport – and the culture here has more to do with small, local feel than with large commercial tourist operations. You have the opportunity to let a quiet holiday rental home or villa and to really immerse yourself into the local scene.

What Shall We Do?

You have many options for filling your days in Paradise Beach. Take full advantage of the watersports options nearby.

Do you prefer the ocean side? Get into ocean kayaking for a different view of the beach, or hire a boat and head out for the daily catch. Many different species of game fish are in plentiful supply just off shore, and surf or rock fishing is also readily available.

For freshwater lovers, get out there and go swimming. The lakes are much safer for bathing than the ocean side, due to multiple rip currents running just offshore. Fishing and boating are also great activities on Lake Reeve, Lake Wellington, or Lake King, all nearby.

Of course these activities will be too tame for some, but adrenaline junkies are welcome here too. The Gippsland Lakes region offers water skiing and there are plenty of jet skis available for hire as well. Would you like to learn to kite sail? You can do it here!

Those who enjoy golf can get in a quick 18 holes at the Loch Sport Golf Club, just to the northeast of Paradise Beach, and still make it back to their holiday rental homes in time for dinner. Nature lovers will want to roam the national parks, with The Lakes National Park as a particular focus. Native wildlife, including kangaroos, koalas, and more, is plentiful. Photographers will have no end of opportunities to capture their memories on film, ensuring that your holiday in Paradise Beach is never forgotten.

Paradise Beach is an ideal spot for holidaymakers of every persuasion. Choose your activities, book a conveniently located rental accommodation, and enjoy the time of your life. If you’re native Aussie and want somewhere for a holiday with the dog, where better than Paradise beach? Just check for pet friendly holiday accommodation.

Climate Control

Paradise Beach really lives up to the name in the summer season. Days are sparkling bright, with temperatures averaging 23.5 to 25.5 degrees Celsius from December through February. If you’ve timed your holiday for cooler weather, temperatures during the normal Easter break will be in the low 20’s for daytime highs with lows dripping to about 10 degrees at night. The coldest temperatures of the year occur in June through August, when nighttime temperatures fall to a bracing 3.5 to 4.5 degrees.

This means that while Paradise Beach is an ideal holiday destination, it pays to plan ahead. Consider your activities carefully, pack the appropriate gear, and ensure that your holiday rental home has all the facilities you’ll need for full enjoyment.

Making the Trip

Paradise Beach is one of the smaller communities along this portion of the coastline. While the region is certainly welcoming to all, keep in mind that smaller communities will fill up fast during peak seasons. Step one in having a successful holiday is to book your holiday home or villa early to avoid disappointment. Once that’s done, you have plentiful flight choices. No matter which of the London area airports you prefer to fly from, all of the major carriers have multiple flights daily to Melbourne.

On arrival in Melbourne, the best plan is to hire a car. It is a bit of a drive, with Paradise Beach three hours fifteen minutes east of Melbourne’s airport. You do have the option of taking a train from Melbourne to Sale, Victoria, Australia, and then hiring a car for the 35-minute drive to Paradise Beach, or of taking a bus route the same way. However, if you prefer to be in charge of your own schedule, then hiring the car in Melbourne is the obvious choice.

Enjoy your stay in Paradise Beach.

Nice relaxing holiday and not too far from Melbourne

4 of 5
Great location for a quiet relaxing holiday....plenty of greenery around....saw lots of kangaroos and varieties of birds...short drive to the beach and shops in Golden Beach....less than half hour drive to Loch Sport, Seaspray and Sale...plenty of space in the fully fenced backyard for our dog to run around...pity we didn't have time to go bike riding as the weather was great

Great place ! Heaps of room and Foxtel abs internet was a treat

4 of 5
Love it a lot with my missus and the dog had plenty of room to roam outside, internet and Foxtel is awesome when the fishing isn’t much chop! Easy walk to the beach and not far from the shops too! Bed was comfy and couches were nice too! Shower has nice pressure , as well as heat! Cons- the bbq was a bit old and took a fair while to heat up, and the master bedroom could do with a good set of blinds to cancel out some morning sun if you don’t like the light ! Other then that a real ripper ! Could have a fair few people down and e joy without it being to crowded ! Will be coming back for sure ! Thanks Greg and Kate ! - wayne & Brooke and Mia
