Tourists especially take a trip to the lovely vineyards of Pokolbin as it offers amazingly unique tasting wines.

Secondary attractions comprise of galleries for art lovers, cheese and chocolate factories for more curious ones, and to accommodate those seeking adventure, there is hot air ballooning and horse riding.

Pokolbin can and should be visited for its appealing and informative attractions and exciting activities. The area offers convenient holiday accommodation or even self-contained accommodation and car hire is readily available

Places for Fun and Play:

Being considered a paradise for wine lovers, Pokolbin enjoys scenic views of the gorgeous landscape with the spectacle of majestic mountains in the vicinity. The popular tourist destination of Lower Hunter Valley offers a marvellous selection of golfing resorts, country resorts, holiday apartments and guest rentals.

The adventure activities have been specifically generated for those who want a certain thrilling experience which includes cycling along the winding tracks of Hunter Valley and hot air ballooning safaris. Travelling in the hot air balloon, specifically designed for two, provides a magically beautiful viewpoint of the Hunter Valley. Among other adventure sports there is also air action and a visit to the Hunter Valley Aviation where tourists can indulge in activities according to their preference.

Pokolbin being a hub of wineries and finest wine making centres, puts visitors on an amazing journey of relaxing at the plush lounges surrounded by views of the mountains and vineyards while having a taste of the exceptional wines with cheese. Most of these wine businesses can be traditional family-owned established at the restful environment of Hunter Valley or recently set up operations having modern winery designs.

At the Hope Estate, 169 hectares of countryside landscape and picturesque views offer once in a lifetime opportunity for tourists to completely indulge in the peace and serenity of nature without the hassle of everyday busy life. There are vineyards here for a personalised tasting experience while enjoying the surrounding historic site. Group tours are organised with information regarding the historic region of wineries and for letting them have a taste of world’s top quality wines.

If you’re looking to leave your Pokolbin holiday rental for a day but you don’t want wine on the menu, a must-visit is the Hunter Valley Gardens nestling in the foothills of the Brokenback Range. As well as number of gorgeous themed gardens, this is a celebrated wedding venue. It holds events throughout the year, some of the most spectacular ones being the winter/snow themed ones in winter (July). There are 8 kilometres of pathways to be walked to fully explore all the gardens. The site has plenty of facilities and is wheelchair friendly.

Pokolbin really is an epicurean’s paradise. Ignore the supermarket chains and load up your holiday rental with the finest food, produce and wines of the Hunter Valley. Pokolbin’s cheese shops provide local and imported cheese available as takeaway or enjoyed on site with burgers, pizzas, baguettes and wraps. Holidaymakers might never have experienced such a personalised trip that also offers handmade chocolate at the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company, plus you get free samples!

The house is really cosy and set in beautiful countryside with fantastic views.

5 of 5
The house was clean and had everything we needed. The two upstairs bedrooms are bright with beautiful views. The outside pool would be great for a relaxing dip in Summer. Our baby son loved the horse that was on the farm and my Mother loved seeing the resident kangaroos in the morning and evening. Conveniently located close to Leaves and Fishes restaurant which I would highly recommend for a tasty and special lunch. Dealing with the house owner Kim was also easy and she was very helpful and welcoming when we ran in to her over our stay.

Perfect place to relax

5 of 5
My husband and I took our son and daughter in law to the Hunter Valley for a relaxing few days. Hunter views was clean, spacious, perfectly located to restaurants and wineries, and beautifully presented. Christine thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. The 2 bedrooms that we used were cosy and spacious, plus having 2 bathrooms upstairs was great. We appreciated the kitchen for breakfast and the washing machine & dryer meant we didn't have to pack too many clothes. An overall wonderful place to stay.
