The largest town on Tasmania's north-east coast, St Helens is a scenic coastal town that offers a relaxing, romantic atmosphere and breath-taking views of coastline.

Enjoy The Best Of The Coast

St Helens is a great place to explore the peaceful bushlands of Tasmania, from the spectacular Peron Dunes to the broad, rugged coast. Rug up and take an enchanting hike to the stunning Binalong Bay, Eddystone Point and the iconic Bay of Fires, a pristine stretch of white sandy beaches and extraordinary giant granite boulders. Or pack a picnic filled with local produce and take a drive along the coastline to The Gardens, where you can catch beautiful views of the Bay of Fires.

A Rich History

Like many Tasmanian towns, St Helens came to be because of its strong population of sealers and whalers. This sad, but fascinating moment in Australia's history can be learnt about at the cosy St Helens History Room, where locals will be delighted to share with you their towns, and their families history.

An Anglers Paradise

Many know St Helens as the game fishing capital of Tasmania, and it regularly draws visitors from around Australia to try their luck at angling along this stretch of coast. During March the popular St Helens Game Fishing Classic draws enthusiastic crowds and always ends in a great feast. If you're keen to enjoy life under the water, St Helens is also a popular area for scuba diving, with its stunning underwater caves and extensive kelp forests.

Homes Away From Home

In winter, watch the storms roll in while curled up by the fire, and in summer enjoy watching fishermen pull in their catches along the Georges Bay shoreline while enjoying deliciously fresh fish and chips. Life in St Helens offers tourists the best of a coastal Tasmanian lifestyle in a setting that has seen tourists return year after year, for decades.

From a picturesque home with extraordinary coastal views, to a historical home set along the scenic waterfront area, St Helens holiday rentals can offer tourists all the conveniences of nearby bustling town centres, with an even more relaxed, coastal atmosphere, so that you can enjoy a real home away from home. Whether you're looking for a romantic couples retreat, sprawling family dwelling or anything with stunning coastal views, holiday rentals offer some of the best Tasmanian accommodation in St Helens.

Why Choose Holiday Rentals?

Choosing holiday rentals for your St Helens accommodation mean that you can enjoy your own space and amenities without sharing or having to worry about being in close quarters with other tourists. Enjoy your own kitchen, bathroom, barbecue area, garden and multiple bedrooms that are literally a stones throw from the water and all the action, making your trip easy and stress free. With every sort and size of house available, from modern architecturally designed homes, to romantic, spacious homesteads a few paces from the beach, there really is something for every holiday maker.

A fabulous house

5 of 5
Gull Cottage is a beautiful house. Home from home. The views are stunning, the kitchen is large, well equipped and easy to cook in and the beds are dreamily comfortable. St Helens felt to us well off the tourist route and all the better for it. The beaches on The Bay of Fires are to die for and don't miss Peron Beach. You'll feel like you're the first to discover it. Buy lobster or fish and chips from the Lobster Shack, go fishing with Michael for a great fun afternoon, stock up from the fantastic supermarket (better than most London ones!), and relax on the deck, if you're lucky together with the shy Wallaby. 5 nights not nearly enough. Wish we'd had much longer to enjoy. Thank you, Trish, for all your help before we arrived. We'd travel all that way to stay again. Perhaps we will!

What a View!

Sea Eagle Cottage is the perfect getaway. The cottage is spacious & well appointed. The view of Binalong Bay & Bay of Fires is amazing & we spent a lot of time on the verandah doing just that. We would highly recommend Sea Eagle Cottage for a great holiday (Jan 2018).
