Boasting a prime location on the Sunshine Coast, there is much to do in and around Sunshine Beach. Beachside rental options abound; however, there are also numerous inland holiday homes, apartments and condos. Lounging on the pristine beaches is just one way to spend your time in Sunshine Beach, as the hinterland beckons with plenty of its own charms. Because the climate is warm in every season, you never have to worry about choosing the wrong time of year to visit Sunshine Beach.
Noosa National Park
You cannot visit the Sunshine Coast without making a stop in Noosa National Park. Sunshine Beach is located on the south side of the park, which makes access extremely easy. There is a vast number of walking trails through the park, and they take you along the coast, through the rainforest, into the woodlands and through other areas of the park; some of these trails are paved and handicap accessible. Bring along your lunch and have a picnic in one of the designated eating areas after you complete you walk. Barbecue grills, picnic tables, public restrooms and drinking fountains are all available. No matter what you are doing in Noosa National Park, keep an eye out for local wildlife. Koalas, honeyeaters, parrots and many other species of wildlife call Noosa National Park home.
Grab a Bite or a Drink
In Sunshine Beach, there are plenty of dining options to choose from. Cafes, restaurants and other eateries fill the centre and provide options for every meal. If you are simply looking to unwind after a long day exploring, check out one of the beachside bars in Sunshine Beach. There are multiple delis and restaurants with takeaway options, if you want to grab your food and head out for a picnic. In the mornings, make sure to hit up one of the local bakeries for homemade pastries and baked goods.
Lounge the Day Away at the Beach
As promised in the name, Sunshine Beach is home to a wide beach covered in golden sand. The blue water meets the sparkling shore, providing a scenic backdrop against which adults and children of all ages can play. To keep visitors safe, there are a number of separate banks. Visit this beach year-round with total peace of mind, as it is patrolled throughout the seasons.
Bring along your surf board, and hit the waves right in front of the Sunshine Beach Surf Club. There are multiple areas for swimming, if that is more your forte. Head out a little further in the water to enjoy snorkelling, diving, kayaking, sailing or jet skiing; there is no reason to be bored when at the beach on the Sunshine Coast!
Beyond Sunshine Beach
Because Sunshine Beach is set so close to the surrounding towns of the Sunshine Coast, attractions abound, and best of all, they are all just a short drive away. Head over to Hastings Street in Noosa Heads to visit world-class shops and enjoy even more fine dining options. If you tire of shopping, do a tour of the many beaches of the Sunshine Coast. Aussie World, a renowned amusement park, is set a little further out, yet is still an easy drive from Sunshine Beach. Underwater World Marine Park, Australia Zoo, multiple national parks and many more attractions ensure there is never a dull moment on your holiday.
Travelling to Sunshine Beach and Getting Around
Sunshine Beach is easily accessible for international, out-of-state and Queensland visitors.
