Upper Yarra Reservoir Park

Take a trip to McVeigh’s Water Wheel, which has been dutifully restored to its former glory when it used to be the generator that supplied power to the McVeigh’s Hotel. Unfortunately the hotel is now underneath the water of the reservoir so it is only the water wheel that remains.
There are plenty of stunning trails, like the Fern Gully self-guided walking trail through the eucalyptus forests and the Brimbonga Walking trail that goes right up to the viewing board, where you can watch the water flow right through the reservoir outlet, as it makes its way all the way to Melbourne.
Mont de Lacey Historic Homestead and Museum
This attraction is a must see and a fascinating outing for all ages that will delight the entire family. Mont de Lacey is a completely traditional and authentic homestead recreated to showcase the life and times of the original pioneers, going back to the year 1867.
Tour through the historic homestead, the original 1800’s slab kitchen, meander through the pristine gardens, take a tour through the museum and pause to remember at the original Mont de Lacey chapel. Finish off with a visit to the Heritage Education centre and the original blacksmiths shop.
Warratina Lavender Farm
Starting out life as a hobby when Annemarie chose to plant some lavender on land that was previously home to a cherry orchard, the Lavender Farm has grown leaps and bounds since those early days in 1991. Now with more than 10, 000 lavender plants on display, and is a fully functional working lavender farm, supplying merchants and wholesalers with their supplies of lavender.
If you are visiting Warbuton during the months from November to February be sure to get down to the farm as you can experience the excitement of harvest time. Enjoy a cup of refreshing tea and some lavender baked goods at the little tea shop on the farm.
The winter rainfall area of Warbuton has the most glorious weather, which makes it the perfect all year round holiday home destination. With the summer months between November and April heating up to a warm 26 C during the day, and cooling off to a balmy 22 C at night, you can enjoy every outdoor activity without having to be bothered by any intense heat.
