Wonga Beach Accommodations

The Cairns area of Queensland is a popular holiday destination for many reasons. Choosing a Wonga Beach holiday rental will not only save money, but enhance a holiday trip for the better. Many rentals are villas and private homes with ocean views or rest on the shoreline. Some rentals offer guests pools, a large private yard, and views of the nearby mountains.

Why Choose Wonga Beach?

This small community rests only 40 kilometres north of Cairns. Along the shore of the Coral Sea and just minutes from several reefs including the Opal, Undine, Rudder, Batt, and Tongue Reefs, this town is a marine lover's heaven. Travellers from across the world flock to this area for a chance to dive and snorkel among the marine life found here.

Cape Tribulation and Daintree National Park

This biologically diverse area ranges from mountainous rainforests to sandy beaches. Of the many walking trails found here only a few are moderate to difficult. Trails wind through rainforests and across creeks teeming with animals. A popular lookout at Mt. Sorrow features views all the way to the coast and of Snapper Island. Visitors may also boat and fish within this park.

Great Barrier Reef Tours

Many companies throughout the Cairns area offer tours of the GBR. A very popular diving and snorkeling excursion includes Flynn, Thetford, and Milln Reef's 16 diving sites. Large Parrot Fish, sharks, turtles, and other diverse marine life live in the clear waters lining these coral reefs.

Another popular option is cruising above the reefs in a glass-bottom boat before disembarking on one of the many islands for secluded diving and snorkeling. Many types of birds make this location a stop along their migratory routes because of the plentiful food.

Billy Tea Safaris

This company offers scenic tours through some of the most popular natural attractions in this area. A ride on an ATV through the bush and upriver ends at the Chillagoe Caves. Inside these caves, visitors can explore the natural formations that are millions of years old. Be careful not to get lost as these caves are like a giant limestone maze.

Four-wheel tours through the Daintree rainforest, to Cape Tribulation, and along the Coral Sea shoreline offer riders the best views of these terrains. Naturalist guides accompany riders along the drive, as well as, along a river cruise through crocodile ridden waters. A walk through the bush ends in strolling along boardwalks through some of the area's finest natural settings.

Holiday Living Made Easy

Choosing a holiday rental for Cairns accommodation makes holiday living easier. Guests sleep more soundly in separate sleeping quarters than in a cramped hotel room. Home-cooked meals are healthier and less expensive than room service. Many rentals have clothes washers and dryers saving money over hotel laundry service. Family time won't be disturbed by noisy neighbors or hotel staff. No worries about losing valuables either; the only people with access are family.

My family of 5 stayed at Cloud 9 for 3 nights. It was the most enjoyable & memorable time or our holiday in far north qld. The views from the house are spectacular and we began to relax the moment we arrived. We marveled at the design of the house, the use of tree trunks for support, the polished timber, screens instead of windows and filtered rainwater on tap! From early morning until late in the evening we rarely left the balcony with its majestic and everchanging views as our backdrop. (My son rarely left the hammock) .Gerry was a perfect host, he suggested itineraries, had great stories to tell and even took the time to show my son the basics of wood- turning in his workshop. We recommend that anyone holidaying in the Daintree should take the unique opportunity of staying at Cloud 9.
